Tried with Opera, Firefox, .... Anyone having the same issue ?
Any idea what could be their e-mail so I could simply send one to them ?

I tried to disable Hyperthreading on my CPU. And it bugs Rapid, no sound, no wavetables loaded, nothing in the Library...

Re-enabling Hyperthreading fixes the issue. I tried re-installing but no luck...
I think this is the same what happened to me. The copyprotection whatsoever kicked in, while you changed your settings and Rapid lost it activation. Best of this is that plugin is so stupid and won't tell you that. No regular user know what cause this and how to fix it.

Try this out:

Go to C:\ProgramData\Parawave\Rapid and copy the license.dat somewhere else and then DELETE it. Then run the plugin and it should as you to re-active it. If this was the case. If this do not fix it, don't know then.

This synth is stone dead for years now. What do you expect from Parawave? They have run away a long time ago :x :x

If you need support on the copyright issues, you can just mail them. In my experience they respond fast on those kind of support tickets. If you query about progress, you will not get a response. At least I havent. On functional things on how the wave table files work and actual issue, they have never let me down.

I feel that they want to continue on the synth and not let it die, but it's more like a hobby project than a fulltime company working on it. Nothing wrong with this, I have been in the same situation for years.

You could opt that as long there is the yearly minor update at the end of the year, whether it is to generate sales or give us a latest OS compiled version, the project is not dead. So if you like the synth in its current form, it is quite safe to say it is not dead.

U-He, Sylenth1, Spire, Serum, barely get any updates either. Nobody considers these dead. The mistake Parawave made is to promise a timeline, and then live happened and they could not keep the timeframe in check. So people started to worry.

As for Ruta, he seems to be the one behind the reverb. This Ruta Verb is now also available in Avenger and as an FX plugin with RAPID and it is amazing. For the rest, I only see his name on a ton of presets. So my guess is that he is mostly a sound designer.

I was under the impression that Mirko was just the Sound Designer (with possible input on the actual design of the synth).. I may be wrong on that and apologize Mirko if that isn't the case.

The Ruta Verb is also in Dune 3.

As for timelines and responses, my last 1 or 2 emails to Parawave has gone unanswered. They use to respond in the past.

And sometimes...

Tracktion may be highly active in selling plugins at the moment, I’m unable to get an answer from them on how to get my HoriZEN licence back now that it’s been sold... :ud:

And it’s not the first company who answers when they want to...

Still no updates to Rapid then?

I predict a minor update fixing 3 bugs for the blackfriday :hyper:

Rapid was ahead of its time. It is still a better choice than Pigments. But I prefer Dune 3.

Read the post again you quoted... he talks about the dev (Parawave)... not any user trying to sell his license second hand!

:dog:
It’s inappropriate to talk.

I guess I'm missing something as I tend to think it strange that a developer takes a project to a mature stage such that a few improvements here and there could maintain its value and position in the market, but instead decides not to. Perhaps the codebase becomes messy enough that substantial rewrites are necessary... I don't know, I'm not a programmer. Rapid is still great though... but I don't use it incase for some reason a Mac OS update makes it no longer usable.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

I think the answer could be very easy...
I nowadays crowded market it´s quite hard to reach an efficient income from a single product to justify any time for further developing or can can even force the developer to take another full time job to earn some money...
Both will lead to just doing the absolute necessary to not let the project completely die ... what we see over the last 4 years...

The shady thing about it is just to pretend that everything is going on as normal and to conceal the fact that nothing big is actually happening anymore...

The risky thing with Rapid is that any time he can pull the plug disable his site and therefore any registration options and simply disappear what makes Rapid useless from the moment you would have to authorise it again (new machine/installation etc...)
I don´t consider him to be fair enough to provide a new version before which wouldn´t need the C/R protection...
