I find the delay very good and thoroughly unique. For lo-fi tape stuff, you can still hear the "weirdness".. but it's not really a problem. Only if you've used tape yourself (cassette, quarter inch etc.. doesn't matter really what kind) and know how it should sound, then this may bother you, even when in lo-fi territory. But if you just take it as an effect on it's own and disregard the label, then yeah.. I do find it very useful for lo-fi.

+1 ...even if I don´t really have issues with it ...
But I would have a question to UVI (otristan):
Why iLok??
Your plugins get cracked in seconds and available as soon as they get released as well as all of your libraries...
Why do you pay (maybe quite a bit) a company for NOT protecting your plugins but seem to cost you a lot of potential users which stay away from your products because of iLok??
I don´t get that... the copy protection doesn´t work... obviously... it´s very questionable... it probably cost you a lot of money... it probably cost you a lot of potential customers... why do you stick with it?
If I look into what happens in reality that all seem very selfdestructive to me...
No rant... just curious...

First thing that turned me away was the "Playback Filtering". Can't get much use out of it without destroying top end. Would a mix control for this section help?
The tape simulation block animation appears broken. Unless it is not meant to animate like the others do. Nothing under "degrade" alters the visual.

Considering buying this as it´s on sale now but just looked at the delay and there doesn't appear to be a ducker.
Really? Life´s too short to automate delays or mess with sends/sc. Was there an update where ducking was added? I know UVI did that with some of their other delays if I´m not mistaken. Also, what's with the tiny buttons and wasted screen estate?
Guess I have to demo first

I got the UVI Tape Suite as a Focusrite customer and spent half an hour looking this free gift in the mouth.
Summing up, my impression is a box of coarse audio toys for people who like to mangle their sounds out of recognition. The preset defaults are all set at 100 per cent wet and after recovering from the audible shocks, I found tweaking some useful (for me) pinches of this rough chili a pointless exercise. But then, I'm not a mangler – I prefer 'more refined spices'.
There's no 'tape stop' and apparently, you can't stop those highly distracting, stylized tape spools, either.
Not a keeper for me.
