Hi all,
Any word about fixing some of the VST3 problems such as the seven-year-old problem with bungled handling of VST3 bundles (introduced in 2018) that I described above? I have not received any more updates on submitted problems from support nor from developers.

It's possible they did things about VST3. Don't know your particular issue though.DaveClark wrote: Sat May 31, 2025 5:03 pm Hi all,

I got ProX2 2015 and there were severe problems with Waves VST3, so even after many retries and remote sessions with Waves they gave up.
- it crashed even scanning plugins, Element synth crashed constantly
- and consequently Waves removed Samp ProX2 from VST3 support to only VST.
Samp is now back to VST3 support by Waves as I got ProX8 last july.
I tested some VST instruments with multi outs, since I have issues with Sonar and those, seemed fine.
About release dates not sure what is going on there.
- big announcement, kind of, now finally last chance until May 19
- then moved a week
- and now moved another month+
I get a feeling we better wait until christmas or so.....so at least one patch since release...

Well, apparently BorisFX purchased Samplitude/Sequoia in the meantime and founded a new German division for it (which is headed by key-Samplitude personnel).
Too bad BorisFX isn't exactly known for their moderate pricing.
They (Magix) had already released S9 for a day or two by the way (including a downloadeable demo) in May, but then pulled the plug at the last minute.

Thanks for posting. Started to really worry what happends to Samp as june campaign expired.
I find that reassuring actually, somebody not too diversified. That's how I felt about Magix, they run on everything and devs not really using Samp. Magix purchased almost everything hi and low for audio, video and more.
I remember having some BorisFX plugins in PowerDirector, but that's all I know about them.
But if they go all postproduction prices like Sequoia/Nuendo on Samp too, would not reel me in.
- and they might have "call home" every month, not like Magix allowed a P2-serial so that was not necessary. Very flexible and helpful the Magix crew IMO.
But what BorisFX call Nodelock license seems like a lot of software has, if this will go with Samp.
- seems ok to me, most seem to have offline activation too

Just got the email from BorisFX
We’ve got some great news to share: Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio are now part of Boris FX.
We're very excited by this and want you to know that the software you trust is in safe hands. The entire team, including developers, engineers, product leadership, and support staff, has made the move. We’ve formed a new subsidiary in Germany to support this transition; longtime team members Thomas Wolf and Sven Kardelke will lead as co-CEOs of Boris FX Germany GmbH.
What does this mean for you?
Simply put: Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio are here to stay, and they’re about to get even better. With the backing of Boris FX, development will speed up, bringing you more frequent updates, cutting-edge new features (including AI-powered tools), and continued innovation. Support remains seamless, now with an even larger global team behind you. Most importantly, the products will continue to deliver the precision, reliability, and quality you’ve always counted on.
We’ll be sharing more details later this summer. In the meantime, we’ve answered a few common questions below. For now, just know that your trust in Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio remains well-placed.

BorisFX, please offer an attractive upgrade to all those who have stuck with you over the years! I have been on it since Samplitude 9 pro days! In between it got too buggy, so I stopped at Sam x5 Pro....
Let's hope we all get to rejoice with Sam again!! Let the new era of our beloved DAW begin!!!

I guess this means that we won't be seeing Samp Pro X8 on humble bundle for $20 anytime soon.VariKusBrainZ wrote: Fri Jul 18, 2025 3:00 pm Simply put: Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio are here to stay, and they’re about to get even better.
Seriously though I have Pro X7 and it couldn't even handle large midi projects without sputtering along and grinding to a halt. It'll be interesting to see if Boris FX will actually make some real, lasting changes.

Yep, Samplitude once just wiped out my whole midi project! Just couldn't open it. All of my arrangement gone! Poof! I moved on from it then! This was in Pro x5!lotus2035 wrote: Sat Jul 19, 2025 3:57 amI guess this means that we won't be seeing Samp Pro X8 on humble bundle for $20 anytime soon.VariKusBrainZ wrote: Fri Jul 18, 2025 3:00 pm Simply put: Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio are here to stay, and they’re about to get even better.![]()

Yes, not honoring those on current ProX8 is a bad idea.
- Steinberg always had a fair stair of levels for upgrades
I put a ticket with some questions including this, will see what they say.
- they have to look more long term relations, I think
Their site is inconsistent regarding CloudFlare and such ip blocking systems. KVR here is consistent but BorisFX works on some parts and not others, I could not use the link to site from promo email for one but easily go directly to borisfx.com.
- sometime have to change vpn server during a visit even

Even for earlier version users and the X8 users, they could give a blanket sweet deal thereby solidifying the already gained user base!
But nope! $185 and $275/- for upgrade is too high for X7 and back users too!!
They still can correct it and let's say $99 and $129/- (suite) for all would be perfect!
Guaranteed sales from existing user base!! Isn't it??
