Picked up Byome. Lot of fun.
Also got Thorn and Super 8. Great sounds. Very happy.

VSC-2 is nice but I don't really hear a difference from various other SSL Bus Compressor emulations at typical settings (i.e. slow attack). I end up choosing one arbitrarily and shooting out against other styles of compression.
Is there a special party trick I should be listening for?

I don't have any special tricks or anything. I guess it's the box tone I tend to like. Or lack of thereof. It was meant to be a cleaner version of the SSL bus comp after all. I haven't done im depth comparisons, but compared to PA Townhouse and Ableton Glue comp the VSC definitely sounds a bit different from the others. I'm not the best person to describe such things, but it has more presence. It's more obvious with faster attack times. And perhaps on certain types of material. I used unprocessed 909 or 808 sounds.imrae wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 7:00 am VSC-2 is nice but I don't really hear a difference from various other SSL Bus Compressor emulations at typical settings (i.e. slow attack). It is slightly more snappy, than SSL ones and has a slightly different tone. Other than, no much of a difference.imrae wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 7:00 am VSC-2 is nice but I don't really hear a difference from various other SSL Bus Compressor emulations at typical settings (i.e. slow attack). NB) Plugin Alliance have just released VSS-2 channel strip which includes VSC-3 comp. Given this is actually by Vertigo it could be an interesting option. Includes VSE-2 filters, VSC-3 Quad VCA Compressor, VSE-4 Gyrator EQ & VSM-4 tube saturation.Igro wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 8:07 pmIt is slightly more snappy, than SSL ones and has a slightly different tone. No. Just put it in dual-mono left/right mode (turn off the Channel Link and Mid/Side) and it most definitely doesn't narrow it, quite the opposite.ROTMetro wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 7:14 pm Those saying Elysia Alpha do you find it narrows your stereo field? I like what it does other than that aspect.

Unless you can do it with your daw and you don’t actually need it. Like CubaseFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 8:26 pm 1. MetricAB (I swear people forgot about this, or that it's Plugin Alliance. This such a useful utility plugin it belongs in everyone's plugin folder)
I wonder what happens if I press this button...
