Or is it about d16 releasing a product they believe did what they say it does, finding that people disagree for a range of reasons, and then added features their customers wanted?dionenoid wrote: Sat Sep 27, 2025 12:37 pmBut all that aside, it's about D16 having marketed their eq for adding "musical warmth" and "analog-style coloration". Which was just nonsense. And which they now admitted to, as they apparently added coloration in the last update.

You now state that D16 'believe' that they can (and i quote from their marketing) "add rich, analog-style coloration to your mix" using nothing but a set of bog standard clean eq curves.
Come on man. No dev is that stupid.

Framing it as D16 not knowing the difference between analog and digital sure is a strange defense.dionenoid wrote: Sun Sep 28, 2025 12:31 pmAnd how is that less worse ?morelia wrote: Sat Sep 27, 2025 9:38 pmOr is it about d16 releasing a product they believe did what they say it does, finding that people disagree for a range of reasons, and then added features their customers wanted?dionenoid wrote: Sat Sep 27, 2025 12:37 pmBut all that aside, it's about D16 having marketed their eq for adding "musical warmth" and "analog-style coloration". I don't think d16 are stupid (it was literally a "question" asking you to consider the opposite, NOT a statement. Designed to perhaps make you consider that you don't really know anything about the situation but what you have been fed). What I think is stupid is making claims about what d16's intentions were without actually knowing. Hence my statement to the opposite. I don't have any knowledge about what d16 did during development, what particular piece of equipment they used, what they believe, whether they were deliberately deceptive and so on. So I'm not making any serious claims. It seems there are people willing to make assumptions based on their own life experience and apply it to this situation. If you were there to witness the process that d16 went through, sure, let us have the facts.dionenoid wrote: Sun Sep 28, 2025 12:31 pmAnd how is that less worse ?morelia wrote: Sat Sep 27, 2025 9:38 pmOr is it about d16 releasing a product they believe did what they say it does, finding that people disagree for a range of reasons, and then added features their customers wanted?dionenoid wrote: Sat Sep 27, 2025 12:37 pmBut all that aside, it's about D16 having marketed their eq for adding "musical warmth" and "analog-style coloration". My "question" was merely to present an opposing point of view, because I believe no one really knows what took place. If someone has the behind closed doors facts, I doubt they would be willing to spill the beans. Personally I think framing it 180 degrees is equally odd.Kai Enaki wrote: Sun Sep 28, 2025 1:14 pmFraming it as D16 not knowing the difference between analog and digital sure is a strange defense.![]()

The original release certainly didn't; not even slightly and no matter how hard you'd drive it.
