I use Suno to create music for two different reasons...
1. For inspiration, e,g. experimental music where I fuse together two or more different styles to hear what it can sound like, and then use this inspiration to try to create my own music based on that.
2. Create artists that can sing my song lyrics, or old poems I have written, in a style I find suitable for my lyrics.
I have never published anything officially (except on my Facebook wall for friends).
I use ChatGPT sometimes to help me express myself in a better way, either by extending/changing poems so they work better as song lyrics, or as help when I'm stuck in the writing process, when I have an idea of what the song lyrics should contain but not finding the words. And also to correct any grammar or spelling mistakes.
Personally I don't think this is immoral or non-ethical.
Edit: I actually use Suno for three purposes. Upload own bits of created music at "remix" them as different genres just to hear how they could sound in other styles.

Dont matter if its ethical ornot, not thats the main thing.
YOU DONT HAVE ANY RIGHTS over this generated music.
The lyrics may be yours if they don't obtain that too...
To sum things up: This is not your music, and its not your music legally.

There’s no court ruling stating that AI generated music like this is illegal, especially not for personal use. I’m simply enjoying the output privately. That’s not a legal violation and no copyright laws are being broken. So your claim simply isn’t accuratedune_rave wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 9:53 am Dont matter if its ethical ornot, not thats the main thing.

And I don't claim the rights either. I would claim the rights to any music I create that is inspired by output from Suno though, as I'm not intending to copy the arrangement or notes, but rather getting inspired by the style.dune_rave wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 10:08 amI just say you dont own that music, you dont have owner rights.starflakeprj wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 10:04 amThere’s no court ruling stating that AI generated music like this is illegal, especially not for personal use. You dont claim the rights, but they can use the music you generate. Maybe they take your lyrics and sell it as their music.

I could use Suno for inspiration though, then create something based on that style and use Synthesizer V or ACE Studio for the lyrics.

Well, I'm having a hard time finding the kind of experimental music I can get with prompting. Which is mostly why I use Suno. To create something that is, kind of, unique.dune_rave wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 12:08 pm: ) if i need inspiration i listen to some music(from an existing human). That’s about it.
Interesting: The way you both, "pekbro" and "starflakeprj," use AI is,starflakeprj wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 8:47 am I use Suno to create music for two different reasons...

abstractly speaking, just like operating a jukebox in a pub. Or
operating the record player or CD player.
Because in all these cases, you figure out in your head what you
want to hear and how, and then choose it: on the Jukebox, from
your record collection, or on CD. Or on ChatGPT or Suno.
It's pure selection and pure consumption – without having played
or edited any notes yourself. Without having made any creative
contribution yourself. It's therefore "selecting music to listen to."
It is not: "composing and play music yourself".
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion: AI is apparently causing many people who are on the
verge of their own creativity to not make the effort to be creative,
but rather to pursue pure consumption, listening to music. Unless,
of course, you let the AI result inspire you to start your own
composition - but how often does that happen?

Kind of like how a conductor doesn't play a note, no? Or, how a director doesn't act a single line, right?enroe wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 7:25 pmpekbro wrote: Tue Jul 22, 2025 11:27 pm The AIs are fun to play with, I particularly enjoy having them compose rap songs based on whatever I prefer, like a rap song about golf. I only use it at work for a joke, when I’m at home making some music, I compose everything
and play it, since that’s the only way I can do it.
I can’t really use a piano roll, I have to record
a performance. All the music skills are in my head and automatic.
