I haven't been hanging in the PreSonus forum that much the last few years, but I remember many "representatives" were very edgy and defensive a few years back. They couldn't handle critisism much at all, so I believe your experienceandypryce wrote: Sun Oct 19, 2025 5:51 am When the Fender buyout happened I had written my concern about a similar pattern like Gibson-Opcode&Cakewalk on the "now gone" Presonus forum.
One of the developers got triggered and had written an edgy reply accusing me of being pessimistic without seeing anything yet and defending the buyout.
I wonder if he is still with Presonus or remember this exchange![]()

The moment Fender changed the purchase model I saw signs of a future I wanted nothing to do with. My only regret is not selling my Prescamus products fast enough.

Well my license expired. Due to all the stuff that happend in the previous week and their non- acting demeanor like nothing happened Im freezing my licence at my current point. They wont get any more money from me. It seems this will be mostly "milking the cow" with least effort.
Im slowly moving everything back to Logic on my m4 mini. So far things run excellent. (Better than it did with v9 when I left)

Ha! I mentioned this in another thread... This feels exactly like Mackie Tracktion 3.vitocorleone123 wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 10:38 pm
And the Mackie Tracktion disaster.
History doesn’t repeat. But it sure does rhyme!

Pretty sure they shut down the forums.starflakeprj wrote: Sun Oct 19, 2025 7:15 amI haven't been hanging in the PreSonus forum that much the last few years, but I remember many "representatives" were very edgy and defensive a few years back. Just got the dreaded reactivate Studio One prompt myself. No products loading on my account and none of my licenses are appearing, so can't use Studio One.

Same here in the past few minutes. I managed to fix it by refreshing MyPreSonus-page multiple times until I got my product key again and could activate the installation with it.Fidelitymusic wrote: Sun Oct 19, 2025 5:54 pm Just got the dreaded reactivate Studio One prompt myself. They had changed it to a paid subscription forum (which is absurd, of course). Are you saying they shut down the paid subscription forum?

Quite sad. I remember some folks at KVR foreseen that outcome long time ago, once they [Presonus] was bought by Fender. I myself stopped at 4.6 version. Not using it anyway now. The rivals are happy though.

Not sure how that can be - all version variations of S1 are perpetual?sihoja wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 9:21 am On S1 from v1...my license will expire in a week, this is so sad...
Unbelievable greed...
Switching to Cubase probably...
RIP S1
- some content and plugins you subscribed to expire, or?
Daw itself with some stock plugins will always be there to use, but no more updates of course.
- maybe I misread and this is what you mean, updates expire

Still on v6 and no problems for me (yet). I did have an issue with the licence a few months back but Presonus support sorted that out which iirc just meant me deleting the current licence file and using the authorizing off line method.
It wasn't hugely reassuring tbh but I'm sticking with Studio One and v6 until something better comes along.

While I did switch from SO to Cubase a couple of years ago (around the time of SO v6 release), keep in mind Steinberg do yearly updates at ~€99 and there are usually only a few new features added with such an update. 3-4 "major" features per year plus many minor ones does sound excessive, especially if you want to test them properly so you don't introduce new bugs (the bugs and glitches were one of the main reasons I switched from SO to Cubase).
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Although this cannot be said about all recent updates, Cubase 14 was feature-rich and everything was very well implemented.AdvancedFollower wrote: Wed Oct 22, 2025 9:37 am keep in mind Steinberg do yearly updates at ~€99 and there are usually only a few new features added with such an update.
