first, i've tryed your other plugs and i found them really great. specially the filter one which have a cool sound .
was really interested on this one. not a lot of free pitch vst around here .
unfortunatly it didn't work for me :help:.
i use sx2 and i own a tascam fw1884 (great piece of hardware btw ). when i insert your "latest baby" it makes the audio out overloading. the master go in the red.
the sound i get is a kind of strong sawtooth.

hope it helps... and you'll correct this soon :P.
Turn the output knob way down and see if that stii happens.

I've been using it a lot and it works perfectly over here in Tracktion.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

Thanks for the feedback! It's not a pitch plug-in per se, though. It takes harmonic content and pitch-shifts it and then re-introduces it back to the original signal; so, the fundamental pitch stays the same, and the shifted pitch is modified (and can be detuned).

I, too, would like a good pitch tool. :(

Regardless, that bug sucks. If I'm not mistaken, Dunc's narrowed it down to the output stage... perhaps it has an internal limiter/compressor that's acting up. I'm not sure, but if you stay tuned, Dunc can probably update you.

Cheers for the bug report, anything greater than SX1 has been problematic for us, but other non-Steinberg hosts have been quite stable with it. Haven't had to worry about freeztar's workaround because I, too, have it working purrfickly in T. :D

ooopss !!!
was a bit confused about what this plug really do.
anyway, it still sounds really interesting but i don't think i'll downgrade to SX1... :P.
hope you'll debug it :D.

ps: @freeztar the output level have no effect. it happens when you use it whatever you do .

No doubt, but maybe one day you'll upgrade to something non-buggy. :P

We'll have to see what Dunc comes up with. You're welcome to stop by the Betabugs Bughouse forum (follow the link in my signature) and report a bug. He also visits this forum, though, so it'll be seen.

Cheers again,

Hello!

ta for the feedback. The problem can be traced to the compressor code. Most hosts deal OK with the exception that is raised, and just don't run that code. SX2 seems to go crazy...

I can trace to the line that the bug is on, but every attempt so far it ain't budgin'!

I've been going back to it regularly whilst developing other stuff. I hope to have it done in the next couple of weeks.

It eats a crap load of CPU on a H/T 3.2ghz P4 I might add like way too much as in 16% per instance.
Just thought I'd let you know.
So I deleted it .............sorry :(

No need to apologize. What host are you using? FloFi doesn't even make my CPU meter budge. Ie. it doesn't even use 1%. That's in Tracktion with an Athlon 2800+.

Inserting 6 instances back-to-back, I finally got the CPU meter to move.

BTW, you get a god-awful sound by putting 6 instances (default preset) back to back over a snare track. :hihi:

Holy fook. I'll tell you what, though-- it took me about 20 instances (spread out between 3 tracks, but one was a 'bus') to get it up to 50% and then it crashed my host spectacularly :D. I'm going to give it another try.

Without having one track bus to another (which may have been the cause of the crash) I could not crash Tracktion again. I DID, however, force it to shut off realtime audio playback ("end-to-end") in order to preserve itself. Here's a shot of my FloFi farm just before e-to-e shut off:

That's 60 Flofis and 7 Kjaerhus Master Limiters (don't forget the one in the master area).

Which means we need to find out what's different between your system and mine that's causing such high CPU consumption for FloFi. Does anyone else have a similar experience?

Does anyone know a plugin like Kong for free?

Forget that. Tell what led to you resurrecting a 21 year old effect thread to ask a question about an unrelated instrument. There has to be a story.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
