amplitube 2 is THE solution. it offers so many options that were not in AT1. i was really caught off guard when i saw it at namm this year, although i saw some teasers in the IK animated GIF. all i know is the pros that were playing it loved it and the jams were smoking hot at the IK booth because of it. they all kept coming back cause they wanted to play it more.
That's what I was talking about. When you witness that you know it one a whole other level. I didnt see musicians flocking around the NI booth to play Guitar Rig. People were going nuts over AT1 and Ampeg SVX which tells me that it's going to be well received by a lot of pro musicians when it is out. Even AT1 was so AT2 will be that much more so.

And i hope the same thing.
I hope to say that Amplitube 2 will'be the best emulator on the market.

I'm really interested to hear samples !

right thats what im talking about too..

amplitube TWO will kick guitar rigs butt.. im sure IK was feeling the heat after guitar rig came out, and now they are adapting, making things better..

hey, IK multimedia did it first natively as far as im concerned..

but AT1 still wasnt as good as gutiar rig one, feature-wise or sound-wise..

IK Multimedia did it first, right, but did they do it right the first time. NO! They have to create a new version that will problably cost their customers big bucks when they could have done it right the first time.

Native Instruments did it once and it was excellent!

pfff... after 2 years of IK doing a pretty decent job and winning awards and such..

yes, it will cost ppl money.. this is evolving technology, and it takes time and effort to code and market.. are you from earth?

I just saw that the voting was exactly 50 votes to 50, so I just thought I'd point out that Guitar Rig uses SSE and my system don't, so voting was easy!

Tough choice. Amplitube does clean best and its amp modeling is better than GR's. GR is easier to use and has a lot more features. It's distortion is better, I really like the RAT pedal in 1.2.

That said, AT is $99 cheaper and it looks like 2.0 is going to be amazing, so I went with it on the poll. Even so, for the money I would rather have an actual piece of hardware, in which case I would buy a Vox Tonelab or Pod XT.

Haven't most people who have demoed both claimed the opposite? That GR is better for clean and Amplitube is better for Distortion?

I can't draw a comparison myself, but I'm fairly confident that's what I've heard more often.

Really? I can't imagine anything being easier to use than Amplitube (except perhaps Ampltube LE, which has everything on one page). Is GR really that easy? I haven't used it... but that thing looks like Kontakt or Reason. Its modular routing looks powerful, but not exactly what I want to deal with when I want a sound fast, so I can get back to making music.

Forever,

Kim.

AT has really good amp models, which in turn produce a better clean sound. I am happy with the AC-30 model and a splash of reverb myself. The distortion just does not sound good in AT unless you really tweak the EQ. Even then you are limited to one pedal. I find it easier to use a real stomp box in front of AT's amps or even throwing SimulAnalog's DS-1 or SD-1 in front of it in a pinch.

I did find GR easy to use after about a half-hour of WTF time. It's certainly more flexible than AT as far as chaining goes. If you like the Reason interface I can see GR appealing to you. That said, the amp models don't sound anything like their real world counterparts. Just look at the presets if you need proof. "Beetleback Rider" uses the Rectifier model to get the Beatles sound. You they would use the AC-30, curious.

The distortion sounds good in GR and you have a bunch of pedals to work with, as well as the Rectifer if you play metal. I don't think AT can compete with GR on that front.
