A whole audio-visual collage of mediocrity! I like it!

:-D Worry not! In graphics as in music there will, as always, be good, bad, and average. Take what ya like an' leave th' rest, like in "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down"...

i think the best anti-reason thing i've ever read was when Keyboard had a big article on the prodigy, and liam was talking about how he'd given up on all his piles of analog synths, and was using reason for everything for the new album. how he'd have something going in pro tools, but then say fuckit and put it in reason and it was much tighter and better.... then several months later when the album was about to come out, Keyboard had another interview with liam, and he basically said "yea, we wrote a lot of it in reason, but then it just sounded so thin and small we had to replace all the sounds with real synthesizers". i laughed my ass off at that.

Hey, my website says everything about me that people on KVR need to know, and it does so in full compliance with W3C standards (i.e. XHTML 1.1). :D

Strange, I don't laugh at bad reviews of software I don't use. To my way of thinking, just because they're not my favorite doesn't mean they aren't useful to someone. So I don't waste time or effort running down "the competition" to what I like best.

*shrug* Whatever makes you giggle, I suppose.

Not sure what you mean. So the answer is probably "No".

I don't care, I'm not working on Prodigy's budget. Reason suits me just fine.

When you think about it, Reason is about the price of a decent Casio keyboard. I wouldn't expect a pro album to be recorded exclusively in Reason. That's a bit silly actually.

reason is a very good tool to learn how to make music, how studios work and all.
reason is great to write ideas, to travel with a laptop.
Reason 3 is an excellent replacement for real synths. For the people without any cash. They need to get a pc, buy reason and use the ASIO4all driver and they have a really fine synth wich is 64 part multitimbral for under a 1000 bucks!

i just thought it was funny to see someone as famous as liam howlett with his room full of vintage gear go through the same stages of "reason is awesome! i love it!" to "reason is... kind of a neat toy, i guess" that i went through.

neverwhere: I know what you mean, and can see the humor in it. :-) Bet eventually he goes back and forth a few times... we won't hear about that, though.

what i don't get...version 3.0 and still there's no h:mm:ss display?!?! :nutter:
(or am i now making a complete fool of myself and it's hidden somewhere?)

Yeah, Reason has a thin sound, but creative routing and mixing in a good host makes all the difference. period.
