So far been experimenting with Saturated Driver on Stick and bass...sounds great! :)

Just wanted to say thanks as well.

Yeah, thanks Tim Brooke-Taylor - and give my regards to Bill Oddie (did he do the GUIs?)

Seriously - many thanks Daniel.

I only recently got around to testing his Pocket Limiter out properly - bloody amazing. I was pretty happy with the BuzMaxi thing, but I did some serious A/Bing on a recent track - that Pocket Limiter is so much more transparent in soft-knee mode. I didn't expect to hear much difference, but it was like lifting a blanket off my monitors when I clicked over to it instead of all the other comparable limiters  . It actually induced me to limit far more heavily than I normally like to, it was that good.
So I've no doubt this saturator thingummy will be nothing but excellent too.
And thanks for the Tapestop update too. That one's a little slice of genius.

I'm just trying to get my head around what an "inbetween a Limiter/compressor" is? Something preferable on a track basis together with a compressor (or skip the compressor as well?)as opposed to The Pocket Limiter which should be used mainly for mastering. Or what?
My totally unqualified guess would be Pocket Limiter on masterbus and Saturated Driver thingy to tame transients on individual tracks.

Wow, was checking out the staturation driver thing last night. Man does it make synths sound nice and crunchy and smooth at the same time (don't ask, I know that is really an oxymoron, but....). That thing is really, really nice.

Post

just want to add my thanks for the nice plugins

Post

love the saturated driver - it's just perfect for my click based beats - it's usually really hard to boost a beat based on record clicks and DC clicks to an audible level - your plug does a GREAT job at this - good on bass as well.
The gui's are beautiful - do you use VSTGUI, your own framework or???

anyways: thanks you so much for your great plugins - you must have noticed: you're a bit of a legend here on kvr :-)

Saturation Driver is pretty damn versatile - you can push it hard and get some nice saturation effects but you can also run it as you would the Vintage Warmer on keys - on electric pianos and on Hammond sims like Nubi - for some compression/limiting and warming. I have used PSPs Vintage Warmer in these applications for years and just trying it in a reggae style tune last night I was pretty impressed with what the Saturation Driver could do in the same roles.

You can apply more drastic processing to percussive things like electric bass or kick drums. There are several levels of control for dialing in just how hard you are pushing the sound. Daniel really has made something special with this one.
