Yeah, I was never such a huge fan of Wasp either. Thank God Rich developed the new filter algorithms for WaspXT.

If the new version will have considerably reduced CPU usage it may finally become that 'perfect' hostchris_b wrote:I saw a comment Bones made recently about some optimisations in the beta version which result in considerably reduced CPU usage - hopefully this update will also apply to the Pro version as wellVitaminD wrote:Havent seen an update to Oplat in awhile now.. ... Ditto that. I love it's look, functionality, and flow (personally). I always go back to it's piano roll/editor (if I need to use one) over any other apps., and the instruments/samplers alone - are easily worth the price of admission.(IMO)TVD wrote:... You need to realise tha tthe optimisations only affect native FX and instruments. VSTi will still use whatever amount of CPU thez do now. As I use more native synths and FX than plug-ins, I have noticed a big improvement.opiadream wrote:If the new version will have considerably reduced CPU usage it may finally become that 'perfect' host

which makes sense as they all are very good so all the bases are covered with the included stuff...BONES wrote: As I use more native synths and FX than plug-ins

I only have crappy Audigy card, but I wish I could introduce a real time instrument/mic channel into Orion, and see little lights go up and down when I play or sing.Unfortunately, with Audigy and Orion,I seem to be able only to introduce a prepared wav. file as an audio track, and can't have Orion working like a mixer in real time, like it does for keyboard from my midi controller.

I first got Orion because I loved the way you could see an entire drum pattern on one screen... I am ashamed to say it is very hard for me to 'visualize,' an entire song... and the way different drums and drum patterns interact... the graphical displays in Orion help me out...
Keep in mind I was using the Reason Redrum, and it is in direct comparison to this that I liked the Orion method of pattern creation and display.
Over time though, I started using the sequencer in Reason to program the Redrum rather than its own pattern sequencer (the one in the device) and eventually moved away from Orion.
The Sound Banks in Reason I find more useful, and the various Refills.
But Orion Platinum is still the easiest host for me to get something going...

I own both Orion Platinum and FL Studio. Anybody want to buy Orion Platinum?
