Open source does not necessarily mean a GPL license. There are numerous licenses out there; I'm sure one of them would be compatible with the VST legalities.jtxx000 wrote:but output of the code isn't bound by the license, correct? people can still make commercial tracks using a GPL synth...

If he's any kind of coder he would have commented the code well, in anything other than small projects its suicide to NOT comment your code. I speak from experience here.flex42 wrote:Would anyone actually be able to "understand the code" and built on it?

if his wusikstation code is anything like his wav2wusikSND converter then it is commented but not documeted...quincy wrote:If he's any kind of coder he would have commented the code well, in anything other than small projects its suicide to NOT comment your code. If the code is not well documented and commented I'm guessing he's gonna have a big problem selling it either way. So for his sake I really hope it is.

If the code is completely undocumented then I'd say WK will have trouble selling his company at all to anyone at any price ...flex42 wrote:Would anyone actually be able to "understand the code" and built on it?

Wouldn't the onus be on WiiliamK to deal with any outstanding business re: refunds etc.
