novaflash wrote:hi all,
i submit to you a new test version :
http://www.novaflash.com/beta/oxytocin_test.dll
new unison mode : vco1 and vco2 can be set separately
but there are some <> vs version previously released:
- previous version : when unison is activated all chain is virtually duplicated
vco + vcf + sat + limiter
- actual test version : only VCOs will be cloned = less cpu but NOT the same sound
(SE user : i've removed the CK unison management system)

so, report welcome before i hold these modifications.

cheers,
Eric

ps: if you approve this version i will add : more unison voice and a stretch knob
Remarkable how many of the default presets produce good and interesting sound C2 through C6, seems that many synths have a hard time doing that.

I do like how different voices emerge via the new unison. Maybe there is more room now for the sound to evolve? Seems like that to me anyway. Oxytocin is full of surprises if a user is willing to hold down the keys for awhile and listen. Oxytocin is also very useful in the creation of that tear my face off sound I've lately been craving. For that instant gratification thing. Yum.

But I'm a freak, so...

thanks bobsled, i will start this day with a smile :)

"good and interesting sound C2 through C6"
i'm a bit less enthusiast for the high tone (and ring mod), is due to "x1 un-oversampling" in SE but we can certainly increase quality by setting high sampling rate (but high CPU too) when rendering "off line" a song.

That would be swell. Nice feature.

OXYTOCIN updated :
- 12 poly voices (9 before)
- 2x VCOs : individual unison mode
- all LFO : less "sparkles/glitches/noises" in some case
- all OSC (LFO+VSO) phase 0 to 90° fixed (previously 0 to 88°???)
- all OSC square/pulse width fixed (phase = PW, in square/pulse waveform mode)

enjoy :)

OXYTOCIN updated :

- sat : OFF selected by pop-up menu, previously by amount knob
- sat and limiter optimized

for SE users, more details :
. ON = -0.075% per voice (x2 sat+limiter)
. OFF= +0.005% per voice (x2 sat+limiter)
(cpu = amd xp2200)
