Bad news. We have stopped of making OSCs, OSC36 was the last!!!solidtrax wrote:What about OSC37?
Of course kidding, lol.
We are preparing and deciding it yet. We are between two synths to decide, one Analog and another Hybrid + Waveshaping, both "free", (notice the clue at quotation marks) but i want so badly the Hybrid one.
The one who guess the synths will earn +10 points of knowledge, and +5 points of Charisma. LOL.
It will be a mandatory one in any case, but we think you all will love it.
In a couple of days you all will know the synth. Stay tuned!
Have a good day

Me thinks OSCers giving up their effects is about as likely as Texans giving up their guns.gorgorgathgorgorgor wrote:well, we all like playing with our effects, don't we
Hmm, I could really use those points... I will guess it's between TAL-U-No-62 or Plex.IrionDaRonin wrote:The one who guess the synths will earn +10 points of knowledge, and +5 points of Charisma. LOL.

But anyway you don't need more points of Charisma, you are smart and have a nice voice
More guesses?
Have a good day

Ok, finally we decided to use the Hibrid one, i'm so happy for this.
The GUI is a bit weird, not total intuitive at beginning, but it can make a nice of range sounds once you pass through that first touch.
It has a powerful and quality sound, some effects on board, modulation, and a feature that i love it (but i won't say, it could be a big clue).
And it's very low on CPU.
Anyway, even if some of you guess the right synth, i can say nothing until the day, sorry.
Take this just as a kind of teaser to take attention from possible contestants, haha.

Helix looks like a beastly beast, I can't wait to dive in, but I'll have to as I won't have any free time for a few days
I love "OSC O" instead of 1-4...

January 2012 Rules poll Results:
I managed by mistake to delete the form so no graphics this time, but the results are:
Would you prefer that only cross-platform effects can be used?
Yes: 8
No: 16
Would you prefer DAW effects to become allowed?
Yes: 14
No: 10
So the rules have been updated accordingly and are in effect from now on.

you should probably change that bitbut external (3rd party) effects must be freeware and easily available to all.

Are we allowed to add our own User Waveforms to Helix for this competition? I would like to use some of the Adventure Kid waveforms.

Yes sure, just as it was with Zebralette.

Great. Thanks. I was just going through the Helix manual on my lunch break to check out the possibilities when I saw the User Waveform section.V'ger wrote:Yes sure, just as it was with Zebralette.
This will be my first time entering an OSC. Strange that I decided to start with a challenge using a complicated synth I've never even heard of before. Helix looks very powerful. This should be fun.
EDIT: It's not really complicated. I just wasn't used to the SQ-80 style Envelope Generators, and I didn't get the Filter/Shaper routing. I'm good now though.
