Schwweeeet! Pre-release GUI on the front page looks good. Wow :hyper:
...the proof however is in the pudding, she can't only be a pretty face, she needs to be able to sing :P

Hey Ho, Hey Ho, it's off to Beta we go (... soon in anyway.. I think :D )

Ah, so it is. I think her singing qualities are more impressive even than her pretty face :)

Ah, I need to brush up on web lingo it seems :) Still waiting for info on the sidechain questions as well, but I will post the information here as soon as I receive it.

TO ALL BETA APPLICANTS:

You should be receiving an email later today with instructions on beta-testing and reporting. If you receive the email and do not want to participate, please send a reply e-mail and inform us, and we will remove your name and email address from the list.

And please spread the word about the release! The results have been really great so far, and we're very much looking forward to getting this new version completed as well :)

Hey, I just learned a bunch of lingo all in the same post! :)

And just to give people a heads up - we've hit a few issues that needed to be taken care of, and now have been, but the e-mail for beta-testers should go out no later than tomorrow.

You guys take your time (x64/win7/reaper 3.76) :D

(I mean you beta boys/girls, I'm not testing ;) )

Something to look forward to for certain!

It can't really be a technical limitation, b/c I've used VST2 compressors with external sidechaining before. Are there plans to add external sidechaining to other plugin versions as well?
Quite honestly Andre, I couldn't get anyone to even respond to me to test any other versions. Hell, I'm surprised that there's a sidechain version period TBH.

On top of that, there is indeed a technical limitation. Even though you see VST2.4 plugs with sidechain, it not supported officially until vST3. Some plugs have it, some don't. It all depends on the amount of work they want to do to get it in there. And with MixControl - there was no interest so there wasn't much I could do.

Good guess - the official response from the developer (Michael Olsen) is that VST2.4 does not support side-chain functionality and requires a few questionable hacks in the code to work properly, which we are not going to ask him to apply.

So, the available side-chain abilities will lie within the following formats:

- VST3 32/64-bit
- AU 32/64-bit

Nah, no guess. I've been through this conversation with people about a few hundred times :)
