Thanks
Yeah, that's a definite. This is essentially what the multisample feature will do, but it will also export an SFZ map with the samples. It will probably take a little while for the larger new features to be added (probably another month) because I've started running out of money, but no worries, it's definitely going to be included :)
Thanks for your reply.

I've already bought the pre-release. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this can really do when more features are implemented. The application has great potential.Keep up the good work.

Thanks
Martin

Not a problem, please let me know if you have any other feature requests :)

Here's a revised list of the original math functions, along with some new and very cool functions, which can really create some cool waveforms with very little effort:

ArcCos
ArcCosh
ArcSin
ArcSinH
ArcTan
ArcTanH
Sin
SinH
Cos
CosH
Tan
TanH

Exp
Factorial
Sqr
SqrT
Power

Round - round to nearest integer.
Floor - round down to nearest integer.
Ceil - round up to nearest integer.
Sign - returns 1 if positive, -1 if negative, 0 otherwise.
Frac - returns the fractional part of a real number.
Abs - returns the absolute value of a real number.

Min - returns the smaller of two numbers.
Max - returns the larger of two numbers.

There's also another couple of functions that a lot of people will like very much, which I'll describe shortly and have some screenshots for, so you can all see what they do :)

Here's a screenshot of the new version of Wave Designer, which includes rand(x) and noise(x) formula functions, which allow fast creation of random (stepped) and noise(smooth) waveforms. The new version will be available shortly..

Looks AWESOME!!! 8)

I'd LOVE to be able to import a bitmap image (or ANY image format) jpeg/png, what ever. I'm thinking - squiggles and 'graphs'.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

The update sounds great. I have already purchased this and have had some fun with it. My main request would be that you include a variety of formulas that we math challenged can tweak. I got lost in math when it switched from numbers to letters. All I know about functions is that I have fewer of them, or at least says my wife.

Good request, I'll add it to the list :)

Once we have the V1, which is probably going to be in the next week or two, I'll have a few docs that get shipped with it, as well as a bank of really cool formula/node presets :) I've already created about 128 presets, but there will indeed be more available, and I'll also be creating a library for new waveforms that users can download whenever.

If anyone would like to donate some presets (formula and/or node), please feel free to contact me at rlahalla[AT]teamdnr[DOT]net :)

fwiw: I bought this within minutes (hours) of you're posting it as a project :) and the first "features" *I* desired/hoped for were:

1) Import existing single cycle waveforms, and hopefully, wave tables

2) Create/Combine 'cycles' into wave-tables

3) Import images. e.g. Lines drawn in any other app., or (like) a screen-grab of an OSC screen on a synth, or a portion of a waveform IMAGE within SoundForge/WaveLab, etc.. B&W would be fine. Perhaps this could be simplified for the 'coder', by stating a specific or fixed size "X by X" pixels, that it will import properly, etc..

3) A/B comparison of two waveforms, loaded at the same time, with different color(s) for each wave form, with the foreground wave form being semi-transparent, in preference (personally) to 'split-windows', but the latter is acceptable, without/or in lieu of the transparency or even color(s).

I really like how this is progressing. 8)

Definitely will, at some point.

hehe, yep, I just noticed that as I went to add it to the list. So many features, so little time :D

Version 0.3.8 is now available in user accounts. Have fun, let me know if there are any issues besides the layout.

The formula/node editing still needs to be switched between using the top right menu, but that will be changed to only using the tabs in the next version. I just thought you guys might like to play with the new rand(x) and noise(x) functionality :) Here's a quick rundown of how it works:
There are two random type functions.

- Rand(x)
- Noise(x)

The valid range for x is 0 to 1. Values outside this range will be clipped to 0 or 1.

For both functions:
- low X values will generate waveforms with less random variation.
- high X values will generate highly chaotic waveforms.

Rand() generates slightly stepped waveforms in comparison to Noise().

Is it still possible to pre-order this for $29?

Yeah, I decided to leave it for a few days more until I get the new version with the layout changes made to it :)

Great! Just so I'm clear, will this export waveforms in the Alchemy and Absynth (gly) formats, or in WAV format using parameters that Alchemy and Absynth can read? In other words, it is my understanding that only waveforms in Alchemy's proprietary format can drive its oscillator. Thanks!

Currently it will export to either a 2048 sample single-cycle waveform, which can be turned directly into and Alchemy WaveOsc or WaveLfo by using WAV2ALCHEMY, which is located in your Camel Audio user account, IIRC. You just drag the .wav onto it and it'll spit out an Alchemy readable waveform (either OSC or LFO). In the next major feature-driven update, Wave Designer will support exporting directly to both of these formats without the need to use WAV2ALCHEMY at all :) I don't know exactly about Absynth format. It's been requested to support it directly through Wave Designer, but only a few people have requested it, so it will probably be along a bit further down the road.

Excellent - thanks!
