I really hope that someday NI will allow a custom bundle to be purchased, where each product becomes cheaper as you add more (sort of Fabfilter style).
I don't need half the stuff that's in Komplete 10 and until I can pick individual products to make my own bundle, I think I'll stick to Komplete 6 + Kore 2.

That may or may not be true. Reaktor 5.5 was a free upgrade for existing Reaktor 5 users. That said, it was released at the same time as Komplete 7.Numanoid wrote:If they come later, you will have to pay to upgrade againgrdh20 wrote:So the product description says "includes Kontakt 5 and Guitar Rig 5", etc. No new versions, or do they come later?
My guess is that Reaktor is undergoing some major improvements that will push 6.0 back to Komplete 11. We might even see 5.10, 5.11, etc.
I'm kind of with the naysayers on this upgrade. It's somewhat ho-hum. The only thing that would really change my mind is if it turns out that there are some Monark level tech in the other synths. Especially if some of their new filters are available at the core macro level.

I've used Kontakt for a while and finally jumped on the Komplete band wagon with 9.
Darned if I can now see why people skip a version. I'm already on the "waiting for 11" bandwagon.

Well Komplete 11 Ultimate better come with a free Maschine Studio, Kontakt 17, Reaktor 23 and 1/3, a squillion billion patches, a free iMac, and be delivered by Beyonce wearing nothing but a fur bikini for $14 or I'm not going to upgrade !!!
I mean how dare they !
If you can't see the value in K10U for what you do then fine - but it is a simply awesome upgrade for the money. Looking at what you get for that kind of money anywhere else should put it into perspective for you.

No doubt, if they want $14, Beyonce better be wearing some damn clothes.mikeybabes wrote:Well Komplete 11 Ultimate better come with a free Maschine Studio, Kontakt 17, Reaktor 23 and 1/3, a squillion billion patches, a free iMac, and be delivered by Beyonce wearing nothing but a fur bikini for $14 or I'm not going to upgrade !!!

Your comparison was a bit of nonsense, BTW. I think that what most people are saying is that rather than spend X dollars on K_Y, that the same X dollars are better spent on K_(Y+1).
A lot of people do the every other release with many products. It's a good choice when the vendor doesn't penalize you heavily for making it. NI says it's the same price to upgrade from versions 2-9 for standard, so, the longer you wait, the more upgrade value you are getting for the same dollars spent.
Those of us saying that we aren't going to upgrade are sharing our insight as to why. If their reasons matter to you, then those posts could be helpful. It isn't about comparing the money to some other product.

Does anyone have a secret decoder ring to translate the cryptic names of the new pianos into the real makes and models? This "please don't sue us" name game must work for Native Instruments, but its damn annoying for anyone who wants to use their products. Do I want to play The Maverick or The Grandeur? Who knows!
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Remember, it's the interwebz where opinions are not w/o opinions hiding inside opinions. With a side of opinions......super "opinionsized"

NI Pianos suck ass. Can't get a thick sound out of them. I think NI Akoustic Pianos used to be good, with actual names. But they screwed up after that. I tweaked them to sound fatter.
Now all this Berlin grand this and that just sounds thin. Doesn't cut through the mix at all. I'm better off sticking with gigastudio's pianos, as painful as it is to use.

The Komplete 9 Pianos (Berlin, New York etc.) are the same exact pianos from Akoustic Piano. Same samples, same engine. They just changed the names.keyman_sam wrote:NI Pianos suck ass.
