The AAS variant is a modeled rhodes vs a sampled instrument. To my ears the AAS feels a little more sterile than a good sampled instrument, OTOH, it's flexible and interesting in its own right. Definitely worth installing for free. I think Strum Session is also worth installing, I have zero interest in (nowhere close to) Ultra Analog.
I don't find the XLN Rhodes that good... not the clean sound, but I like the a lot the sounds with effects.

About AAS electric piano... is my Rhodes goto. Yes, it's very clean but the model is very FUN to play. I like it a lot.

Only really interested in the LL, can't get enough Rhodes ;)

Is there some crossgrade path to get Chromaphone too or is that just crazy talk?

To be fair, I don't have the XLN Rhodes, I was just talking about the main differences between AAS and sampled instruments in general.

I'm a fan of the Waves electric pianos and also AIR's Velvet.

So are any of the AAS plugins worth a download? As I understand they are player versions with a very limited set of presets.
No signature here!

Post

Nope, not worth it if you have alternatives already.

I would say yes. An amazing Rhodes (and I have many), as it’s modeled, a very fine strumming guitar, and a playful synth. Add to that their tiny footprint.

I agree with Fleer. Definitely worth it if you don't own any of the original versions of AAS plugs. This is a great gift!

BIAS FX LE and Amp LE (again) this time around.

But this time, it's with added reverb!!!

Lame. I'm simply not a fan of Positive Grid stuff. Way too buggy...

I had hoped Focusrite would do what they did the year before and offer up all of the previous Plugin Collective plugins from early in the year in case anyone missed them. Since I didn't purchase a Scarlette until mid-year this year, it would've been awesome to be able to pick up some of the monthly giveaways that I missed. Ah well.

AAS Session totally worth it. Small size, sounds great and unique, versatile usage. Also opens up upgrade offers if you ever decide to do so.

I agree, the AAS Sessions are excellent.

XLN Rhodes is a Mark I while AAS models several versions so it's not a fair comparison. If you compare the AAS Basic Rhodes 1 preset it's an eerily clean version of the XLN one. But then you can turn on the distortion to add some grit back in. But the XLN one reacts better/more life-like to velocity. Both are good depending on usage.

Does Positive Bias plugins get better in the last year?

They now save status in the DAW?

Yeah. I'm still pissed I missed the Exponential Audio reverb. The best deal of the year, i.m.o.

Focusrite somehow never send me Plugin Collective updates and I just forgot to check that month. Also, it looks like we won't be getting anything new next January. As the current deal expires on februari 1.
