This synth is really versatile, takes time to find all the details out of it. E.g. the Noise with different modes when useing Filter2 connected to lo-fi and distortion effects gives really new kind of sound dimensions, especially with arp basses.
One suggestion to the developer to think about for the future developement: some synths (and effects) include option to keep all the parameters untouched when you change the new presets, in this way you can tweak all the settings in one sounds and then test the other sounds with the same settings.

You can do that with Thorn. Just right-click on a control, select 'Lock'.Harry_HH wrote: One suggestion to the developer to think about for the future developement: some synths (and effects) include option to keep all the parameters untouched when you change the new presets, in this way you can tweak all the settings in one sounds and then test the other sounds with the same settings.

Hard drive completely failed out of nowhere. It was a new computer, just over a year. I replaced it with a new one. My main concern is the data, which wasn't backed up. Might cost 2k to get it back. I have to research data retrieval companies, after seeing if I can't do it myself.
For Christmas, I'm getting a back up and sync subscription from Google

This. Strangely, the sustain pedal is generally working, it just doesn´t hold arpeggios.
Other than that, I haven´t found any issues that would prevent me from buying this... so off I go to haggle with Lady Epiphaneia ("no food again, this week? oh, it´s for a good purpose, my honey needs new toys!")

This really is a wonderful spectral/additive tool so far. Didn't listen to the demos before hand so I kind of expected to hear something similar to Loom. Nothing close. Thorn has some pretty interesting features too like the Harmonic Filter and the Glitch Sequencer. Went in it trying to create soundscapes but found myself making alien-like percussive sequences instead. Very inspiring.

For some reason, the lfo are always retriggering. In all modes. Unless the notes are overlapping eachother..bug??

Shoot... that's my nightmare imagination since years. I do a backup every one or two months now though, on an external 2 TB hard drive, and i also have another external hard drive, as a backup of the backup. Of course, a cloud backup will do too. Maybe even more secure. Imagine you have both external hard drives connected to the computer, you're copying files, and the lights go out... will most likely corrupt both hard drives.Touch The Universe wrote:Hard drive completely failed out of nowhere. Which is why I not only have a UPS connected to the computers but also a generator outside the house in case of a real disaster.chk071 wrote:Shoot... that's my nightmare imagination since years.
