Oh, and one other thing. Before people start calling my sounds "chiptunes" they really need to get a clue about just what chiptune sounds are. Avenger isn't even capable of making chiptune sounds because it doesn't have the right processing chip. In fact, I don't know of any synth off the top of my head that can truly make "classic" chiptune sounds.
ouch.
I am currently doing an 8Bit XP for Avenger. Lets wait and see before you say its impossible with any softsynth. I have the real C64 here and analyzed it to death, actually I made chiptunes and sound design with it already over 25years ago... its very possible to emulate it.

btw the 8bit xp will introduce a little cool retro-special in Avenger, not sound related and not a skin. More soon :)

Sure it is. No need to say 'ouch' :tu:

Fun little experiment;

Seriously, do you really want to be associated with a synth that can make chip tune noises when I was basically made fun of for doing just that?

Just sayin.

Sidtracker 64 will do C64 chip tunes perfectly (nearly). It emulates the SID chip from C64. You can even export and play back on a C64 with it.
But it's an iOS app :D
But i'm sure a lot synths can do.
But i prefer my old Commodore C16 plus 4 sound :D
But Turrican sound was amazing. Another fav was NES Mega Man 2.
I always wanted to recreate these with modern tools.

See, there's a difference between emulating a chip tune sound and actually sound like a C64. The SID chip has a very specific sound to it that you just don't duplicate. I know. I grew up during the era. And while, at the time, I thought the sound was almost comical, it has become, well, we all know what it's become. And nothing duplicates it with 100% accuracy in VST form.

I want to take advantage of the 20% sale but how to remove VAT from the price? I'm in Canada I shouldn't have to pay VAT.

edit: Sorry, I already asked that question before. Manuel said to contact ShareIt which I did and they said they didn't know what I was talking about. Seems the problem is not fixed. f**k it then (and ShareIt, hate that company), I'll waste my money elsewhere.

If you were talking about some analog circuit, sure. But this is a digital unit. Which can be emulated 1:1. And therefor can be emulated to sound (!)exactly(!) the same.

Some info on 'how to';

I hope all of Vengeance Sound's plugins are 4k ready.
The Avenger is great, but the Phalanx's scaling is not real-time, and more than 125% is not clean (Bitmap?).

@msvs
Is it something that cooking or forget about it.

we have planned to update all our older plugins to OpenGL 4k scaleable GUIs sometime in the future... but this will take months and months of work. We dont know yet, when we have the capacities for that.

I am doing both one shot and Loop Sustain using Loop Editor for Mac. I am not sure if its for PC.

Hi Wavegem! Many thanks for your tutorial! I also tried Loop Editor for Mac, but as it appears the crossfades for click free loops are not taken over. After importing the loops in Avenger I always hear clicks as if I had not used crossfades, but I have. Do you have the same problem? Which settings do you have? Now I use Wavelab for creating multisamples which works perfectly.

I'm sorry that I must interfere here, but many synths can emulate the good old c64 very well. Avenger is best suited for chiptunes sounds. SQ Avenging Sid 1 and 2 are very good examples.
By the way: I can play Giana Sister on a C64 emulator on my imac which certainly does not have a SID chip. The sound is 100% this which I would expect from a c64, but I think this is off topic now.

Prices for the EXP's:
It can be that the exp's seem to be a bit expensive at first glance, but they are not! Each EXP has about 128 presets in which all macro knobs and buttons are occupied with the most sensible modulations. There are plenty of new drum kits and multisamples. Many presets contain several sounds which in turn could be individual presets and alone the sequences are rather small songs with which you can learn a lot how it is made. If you consider that the creation of an EXP can last 2-3 months, I can understand the price very well.

I'm really looking forward to the 8Bit EXP! I can even imagine which nice quality it will have and what retro special it will contain.

I had problem in the last sale too with Shareit. I'm also from Canada. Was unable to get a payment through to buy an expansion. Forgot about it and will only buy an expansion on sale if it's available with Pluginboutique or another third-party. Shareit is the most convoluted payment method I have ever seen.
