thanks Brian I've been waiting for this.

You might want to get someone to update that page;

"Act now, this promotion ends on December 31, 2020."

I think next time I renew it’ll take me to 10 lifetime keys. Seem to remember that was the limit and after that each year no extra keys.
@Brian is that the case and if so has there been any discussions re increasing the number (as a few plugins have been added to RC since) or maybe something extra which users who hit that limit can get like lower ultimate sub pricing?

Are you safe?

Okay, it is time to do this again. I bought a Jupiter-Xm recently to use as a module, too.

The choices are not easy… hmm.

So, just to clarify: If I want a lifetime key for the JD800 or the XV5080, I have to subscribe to the Ultimate membership, because the Pro membership only gives me the D50 or the TR808 as lifetime options. Am I right?

I don't think that's right. I think all the legendary series are available as life time keys with Pro. I think that page was reused from 2020. I think that's what this indicates (sort of).

But it would be nice to get confirmation from Brian or someone who bought lifetime keys with a pro membership.

Thanks, I hope so. It wouldn't make much sense otherwise.

ok, it looks like this is the page Brian should have put up

https://www.rolandcloud.com/home/news/p ... e-holidays

"Buy an Annual Roland Cloud Pro Membership, keep one Legendary, AIRA, or SRX Lifetime Key*  "

Only mystery for me was that I thought SRX was only available on the Ultimate.

Great, so all the Legendary plugins are indeed included as options with Pro in the promotion. Thanks a lot for the info.

So, what are your favorite Aira, Legendary, or SRX plugins?

Last year, I added the JD800 lifetime key even though there is a model expansion for Zenology Pro.

Some of the more famous legendary products have stiff competition among clones from other devs for which I own licenses already.

I didn’t realize there is a System-8 plug-in until just now (silly me).

I am thinking about the XV5080 to have an emulator in my DAW and not just on the Jupiter-Xm and possibly upgrading to Cloud Ultimate and adding something else.

I also have a TR-8S and a MC-707. Not sure…

i'm not sure what you mean by emulator here. the XV5080 is not an emulator.

perhaps you meant rompler?

I think that depends on what floats your boat. I'm into analogue / poly monosynths. My first synth was a Roland SH2 in 1980. I still have it so cloud wise I like the System 100 and Jupiter 4 best which were the generation before that.

I'll admit I found the JP8 a bit disappointing but I suspect that I probably wouldn't particularly like the hardware version either. I suspect the reason why it was so popular when it came out was because it was more reliable than other polysynths of the day and in Europe and Japan I think it was also cheaper and easier to get a hold of.

Software emulator of software that ran on the hardware.

Are the two bit-wise compatible?

I don’t own any vintage gear, but I have a stupid giant modular system and quite a few modern poly and mono analog, VA, wavetable, FM and hybrid hardware synths as well as drum machines and groove boxes. Zenology and the stuff in Roland Cloud Pro is probably overkill, but…. MOAR Synths! Yes, I have a problem…
