Thx for the honestymsvs wrote:Avenger was built as a synth, not a sampler. I think you run better with Kontakt if you want to manager your entire multisample library. The majority of our users do not care about mass importing samples at all.
while sfz is on the list, it has absolutely no priority and (maybe) will never come. Sorry, but just want to be honest.
Yes I know there are dedicated samplers out there.
But basic sfz import would make this synth so much more killer. At least for me, I'm looking for 1 allround synth to handle my studio and live stuff.
And as you promise in your publicity...
The last synth you'll ever need

A sampler with good synth engines like Halion 6 (which even samples live instruments) may do it for you -but be prepared for a learning curve!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Haha Slic,
again, that's to much for the demand.
And yes I have some samplers, TX16w, basic but does the sfz. Only it doesn't have the synth capabilities like the beloved Avenger...
Simple sfz import fixes all the needs
A simple synth as Dimension Pro does it and I love it as allround musician.
(But again, that synth is useless, so that's why I bought Avenger in the first place)

of course! Forgot to show in the video, but you can just drag and drop your own samples into the granular area. EasyQuestion: Can I import my own samples for the granular engine?

come on men, importing multi samples in Avenger is an easy task, renaming samples is quick and importing is just one click. for me , no problem here, but duplicate osc without duplicate the modulation is sometimes more complicate to manage, it will be great to have a multi osc selection and assign, adjust what you want to the group, same with paralell fx, this could be a nice addition, for now, let's enjoy the granular engine!

I'd say take your time. I could wait few weeks if I know it will be good tested in that time and the current presets will still sound the same (eventough they are not directly related to granular synthesis)
Unfortunately I read some customers had these problems after updating to some of the latest ones.

@godly
Granular is nice, but for a certain public.
I can see granular like colours/petals/boulders to scatter into loops, to sweeten, excite, or push the tune forward.
A time-consuming part of writing tunes is finding effects that do this "in a good way". So I'm hoping granular will be a big help here.
All looks very fascinating to me
(can't imagine anyone not wanting it)

Please please introduce the ability to play back the sample from the position selected by the mouse INSIDE the waveform, and also simultaneously select the width of the playback by click and hold and sliding the mouse up and down. This will make it super easy and creative to be able to select exactly where you want to play from and the length. Using this visual method, rather than turning a dial or mod wheel will make granular synthesis playback much more intuitive, specific, creative and musical.msvs wrote:tomorrow I'll post another video
I hope this description of the control makes sense!

User experience is prior to extra functions imho.kokotte wrote:come on men, importing multi samples in Avenger is an easy task, renaming samples is quick and importing is just one click. for me , no problem here, but duplicate osc without duplicate the modulation is sometimes more complicate to manage, it will be great to have a multi osc selection and assign, adjust what you want to the group, same with paralell fx, this could be a nice addition, for now, let's enjoy the granular engine!
Sfz is a really simple format, text based and gives just that extra usability to import multi sample formats and it's widly used. Large librairies are available.
Check it out, it's just that simple and I don't see a big problem with implementing it?
Are you guys so found of renaming your samples by every note before import?

Yes, I'd love to see to copy/paste osc's between presets also.
Yes, now that I've seen the demo I'm excited also, this will give lot's of opportunities I see.@godly

Here are some idea's for improvement:
- you cannot pedal sustain the drum part (would be handy for live play with the synth), maybe it would be good to have it standard for all drum presets, because drums are present in all of them? And disable the setting in the routing?
- import/export drum patterns (midi)
- select presets by arrows like in nexus would be great
- regarding cpu use: the presets are still quite heavy on my pc, would it be possible to have a cpu use breakdown table, where you can see what effect or osc is hungry? (like in reaper)
- is there a way to copy parts in between presets? Would be very handy.
- basic shortcuts as ctrl+Z, (undo/redo) ctrl+c, ...
- renaming the preset from the top name, does not work?
- and last but not least I keep asking for sfz import (with some basic sampling functionally as it has now, I have so many sfz and it would make use of them in many ways.
btw, I see that other major synths, like Falcon, Synthmaster, ... have also sfz import. It's pretty basic these days...
