So glad I did. Has anybody out there actually had a chance to try any of the new stuff? Any comments?

I'll be doing it later.

Yeah, the internet is dead anyway. Prince told me! :hihi:

Really though, I have to laugh at you and your "colleagues." It's so easy to enable a connection to get what you need in terms of downloads and updates and turn it off so there's no shananagins. Just click on the "disable" in your network connections controls.

Oh, really ?
So nice you told me that secret. :dog:
Better not comment if you don't know what you're talking about.
Let's leave it at that.

Only hurts if it has any sort of truth to it. I've been running my machines hooked up to the internet for years with zero issues. Making sure your computer isn't hooked up to the internet is advice for idiots who probably shouldn't use a computer for music in the first place. If you're so worried about it it's simple enough to remove your ethernet cable and disable it in your prefs when you're done choosing what models you want to buy. If that's too much for you, get off an internet forum and get some pen pals and record on a studer instead.

...or people who are pedantic... Or maybe you're talking about the fact that no one would ever make a hardware amp that sounds as bad as Vandal?

You can save your bull sh!t about being attacked because when you make a statement like "those of us with plenty of real..." you're basically saying that if you don't agree with you you're lacking experience. You know how I know Vandal is an amp sim?

well if taking your frustrations out on me works for you it doesn't affect me one bit.

However about two weeks ago in a thread where you were present sascha did indeed say it was a virtual amp too...you conveniently overlooked that and I'm not going to go looking for it because you will ignore it just like when I posted the video interview with his own mouth saying the same thing.

You want to believe the marketing on a web page be my guest, I listen to the man who made it and take his word over magix's marketing. Remember sascha is not just magix and he has little to do with their marketing. ;)

First I want to thank you for your patience. Today is a BIG day for us and we're busier than ever and being pulled in a ton of different directions answering questions, so thank you.

The DAW needs to be connected to the internet to download and authorize the new gear you decide to buy. That is the MAIN reason it needs to be connected. After it is installed and authorized you no longer need to be connected unless you want to browse for more gear in our Custom Shop.

There's an entry for an "Amplitube 3 Free" in my account, dated today.
Apparently a feature-reduced free version, I suppose.
Can you use this on an internet PC to get trials/buy models for an offline DAW ?

Come on folks @ IK, why not clear up these matters once and for all, in an easy to understand, complete way instead of dropping little puzzle pieces here and there ?
This is not fun like last year's picture hunt was, this is annoying, sorry.
You could avoid so much needless negativity on here caused by rumours and guesswork, stand by your chosen business model, explain it, enjoy the praise but also deal with constructive criticism.

Just saying,

Yes you can BUT at one point you will still need to connect that computer to the internet to download the gear. After you buy it on one computer, even on a non DAW computer, it is linked with your account. After that you go to ANY other computer with AmpliTube 3.5 installed on it and click "Restore my gear" under the ACCOUNT tab in the upper right of the Custom Shop window. This will activate the models from all of your previously purchased Powered by AmpliTube products for use in AmpliTube 3.

As for Authorizations if you ever have any problems or need help you just have to let us know and contact our support. :)

Any other questions?

I just upgraded, and there wasn't any problems. The Custom shop is nice, and I bought the T-Rex pedals, since they are the only part I actually know. The Møller is sweet, and the replica is handy but not spetacular. I will auditien the Orange stuff tommorow.

I can see IK being VERY succesfull with the custom shop, if they keep on bringin good stuff.

you're right, you did not directly call anyone an idiot...my bad...but it still doesn't help your case adding the word idiot because of the suggestion it makes...in does suggest that the point is stupid...those things never help imo. I'm sure there are better ways to put things without having to go there and I'm equally confident that you possess the language skills to put things in a more respectful manner
