Do you just delete the old .dll files when installing the newer versions?sonicfire wrote:

Looking forward to manual (need all the help I can get). I appreciate all the hard work you've put into Phenome and providing it to all of us!!

Just installed V 1.70
When I launch it in FL Studio I get an error message:
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk4\DR4.
I hit cancel. Fl Studio does some weird stuff (kind of freezes) but then gets back to nomarl and the Phenome GUI loads and I can use it.
Love the new sub browser (I suggested it and now I am looking at it. Yeah!) but when I click on one of the sub patches, the name of the patch does not get updated in the Phenome slot. Is this normal? The slot displays the name of the main SF2, not the sub patch that was just selected.
Can you fix the error I got? Thanks so much!
-edit- Load a SF2 in the first two slots. Solo one or the other and you hear the soloed instrument. Solo both and it is silent. Some weird behavior here. Either both should play if they are both soloed, or you should only allow to be able to have one solo button selected.
-edit2- Any chance of adding Keyboard split? : A way to be able to assign each one of the 8 slots its own keyboard range, so that we can have different SF2's mapped to different keys on the keyboard with even some overlapping if we so desire. Would just need a high note and low note setting for each slot.

hi,
v1.7 seems to working fine here on Sequoia. I just try quickly (I try to follow !).
a question : why there're the same presets in folders (Arp, Bass, etc...) and out these folder, direct in the PhenomeData folder ?? Is there a reason or can we erase ones or others to keep a clean view of the presets in the browser ?
For those which already have the Bank, could it be possible to give us only the soundfont you want to correct ? it would be nice to not have to download again.
Great work, big up !
cheers
Phil

Yes, that's normal. You always know what soundfont you have loaded in what slot, and also what sub-bank/patch when looking at the browserI hit cancel. Fl Studio does some weird stuff (kind of freezes) but then gets back to nomarl and the Phenome GUI loads and I can use it.

(I thought it would be best to display the sf2 filename).
Yes, that's currently a little "bug"! Soloing currently only solos one layer at a time. Noted for future updates!-edit- Load a SF2 in the first two slots. Currently these only show note numbers, will make this more meaningful in the next updates (e.g. C-3...E2...F5 and so on)...

You mean also in the Factory folder itself besides the categorized subfolders?philwake wrote:hi,

I did that so that you can have a quick "view" through everything without going down into subfolders
You can erase these if you only want them to be categorized, sure!
Not sure if i understand you correctly, but there's currently (only) one soundfont from the Factory Library that will be updated, yes. i will update the installer in the next days!

Hey thanks, but I uninstalled V 1.7.
I get that harddrive error every time I load the plugin. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it's still doing it (Win 7 64-bit using Fl Studio 32-bit).
V 1.6.4 does not do this. I reverted back to it and it works fine. Uninstalled, deleted any left over folders, installed V1.7 and I get the error again. You must have changed.... something...
Hopefully you will figure out what's going on..

(...) By Smart Media, I mean one of the 8 in 1 card readers that read memory sticks and Flash cards etc.
As soon as I disable these drives, I don't get the error anymore.
Any other suggestions? Microsoft say that the error is caused when a removable drive is listed as C drive, but this isn't the issue here.
(...)
Weird...
And this:
(...)
These are usually indicative of either USB memory card readers being attached, or USB disk/flash drives being removed without being stopped first.

Very weird. Thanks for the info. I am going to reinstall with the USB stick unplugged ( I had dragged the installer to my desktop and installed from there but the stick was still plugged in).
I unplugged the stick and still get the error. Ah man that sucks. I'll try to see if I can figure out what's going on..

To be honest i have no idea what i could do about this currently, but i will investigate
EDIT: Could it have something to do with Phenome's config.txt file? Does it read "C:\ (...)" on the first line? Have you changed it?

Okay good news, rebooting the PC has fixed the problem. I had a sad face thinking I may not be able to use Phenome anymore but now I am smiling
