Nah, no guess. I've been through this conversation with people about a few hundred times :)
Ah, I'm still not 100% sure what side-chaining is and what it is used for. I've read a description of the process, but still am a little foggy on the concept. Thanks for your input.

This 5 minute video explains the concept very well:

Is it just me or am I thinking less normalized/overly limited examples could probably be cleaned up much better in the first place?

We'll send them a copy of MixControl :)

That would still be today? :)

Some e-mails were sent yesterday and the remainder will be sent out today. We didn't expect to have such a huge turnout, but over 200 people sent requests in for beta-testing. Much more than we had anticipated :)

Mix Control has a much bigger "cult following" that most think... It's a good sign to have that many beta testers for a few reasons, mainly because you'll get a lot of feedback from a huge variety of different setups. That can be good and bad actually  The next thing is interest... 200 beta testers applied? Looks like this pluggie might be very popular. Not surprised actually.

There are situations such as this one that I'd like to refer people to consider when they tell me the GUI is an optional part of a audio plugin.. yet there are ~200 people willing to test it already and they haven't even heard what it can do (sound-wise).

Many of us are visual creatures.. the skin matters. :)

Hi Steven,

Will you look into this issue for MixControl Pro?
I neglected to reply to yours and 3ee's posts, sorry about that. I've added the issues to the bugtracker and they will be dealt with during the beta phases :)
Hi Steven,

Thanks for your answer, it would indeed be nice to see it fixed in V2. I talked about it with Image Line and after serious efforts to track down the bug on the FL Studio side they came to the conclusion that there isn't much they can do.

Thanks (to you and Reason) for the explanation about sidechaining being officially available in VST3 only.

Now that I think about it, it's not that much of an issue if external sidechaining was missing. I'd primarilly use it for ducking anyway and in that case I can always put some other plugin on the respective bus/channel before or after MC. That leaves MCs compressor for actual sound/dynamics shaping.

Regards,
Andre

We realized that with the new components and bugfixes, the new release will probably attract a much larger amount of users than there was previously. We've not sent out all beta testing emails with instructions on proceeding. We are relatively new at the software beta-testing arena, so if we can change anything or improve on our testing techniques, we are entirely open to suggestions :)
