maybe you should check your xils lab user account because i know that xils lab is offering discount coupons for their loyal customers. in fact, i used my coupon for the preorder of xils v+ :wink:

As for the manual, I think, listening to some posts here and in other major forums, that we need to include some examples, with screenshots, of how to use the Vocoder part in the major hosts. Eventually Video tutorials also. This was something I already thought of a few weeks ago, but then other priorities made us forget this. It will be corrected.

Sounds good,

If you tell me what page in the manual it starts to say how to use a different synthnasva carrier, I'll make an ableton live how to video for you.

It's a great sounding vocoder, what I've wanted for as long as I can remember. I just want to hear iit with other sounds too :)

I was quite excited when I first heard about the release of the V+ but was hesitant about the pre order offer as I wanted to demo the vocoder to make sure it was as good as advertised as not all vocoders are created equal. A loyalty discount or a longer grace period on the intro price (so that we could give the demo a go) might have been a bit more gracious... I'm a bit on the fence at the moment as there are a lot of very good synthesized string and voice emulations around at the moment IMHO... so the real selling point for me is the vocoder.
Absolutely!

that was a once-off coupon, if I'm not mistaken. Can't quite remember if it could be used on items that were already discounted for one promotion or another ? Anyway assuming I'm correct about about one or both of those facts, it's nothing at all like the tiered & customer focused loyalty discounts offered by PSPaudioware, Fabfilter et al.

I just checked my account. An updated coupon code seems to be added to my account.
If you already used your codes in the past it is possible it's not available. You could check your account at "Your coupon codes".

AFAIK coupon codes could be used for both the pre-order and the introduction offer as other users have reported.

UPDATE:
I tried to follow the checkout procedure for V+ at the shop (without actually purchasing V+ as i got a free NFR version) and at Step 4 you could enter a coupon code. I entered mine and an additional discount was added.

As this was just a test i aborted before the final step.

No s**t.. is there something you don't understand about the term 'once-off' ?
Your post is rather redundant. It would have been a better idea to have just waited to let Xavier or Lotuzia speak on it, if it needs to be spoken on at all. I'm right about the coupons, unless xils-lab are about to issue some more. There is no precedent of a new coupon being issued with each new product release {though who knows abut discretionary coupons they might issue behind the scenes}, so there's no reason to assume the once-off coupon we got was anything more than a once-off. case closed. lets hope there's more on the way, in an ideal world tiered to reflect the amount of licenses the recipient already owns. but lets take one step at a time :D

I have collected my discount for a while now but did not actually use it until now. AFAIK the discount depends on how many products and which products you have purchased in the past. I am at 25% discount now (the code seemed to be updated yesterday...) and maybe i could use it for a future product. For example Beta testers do not receive soundsets for free.

So the solution for you is:
Check your account if there is a code and if there is none you currently could not get an additional discount.
Other users here have reported it worked and i checked it too like i have mentioned in the update of my earlier post.

@Gosh

Hey! Thanks:) I didn't know that... My bad! Will check it out.

@Ingonator

Appreciate you checking to see if the coupon worked. Thanks!

@ChiTown

I wasn't being negative towards XILS just wanted to mention some alternatives being offered by other companies... A coupon also works for me:)
I think the company makes extremely good product (otherwise I wouldn't own almost everything) and think it's fantastic
that Lotuzia gives up a lot of his time to inform and help people here on GS.

Just checked my account and I receive a 15% discount... Not sooo bad.

Somewhere in this thread Lotuzia mentioned that the discount model used for V+ is a new approach which they want to test.

In the past they also had other ways like e.g. with Synthix. I entered the group buy for that one and got an additional discount as an existing customer. I guess i paid around 72 Euros at the end (don't know the exact one at the moment).

With my current discount coupon (25%) i would reach a comparable price for V+ and with the pre-order it would have been even less.

After all the current price of 99 Euros is already 50 Euros less than the final price...

Enough discussion about prices and discounts from my side now. :)

Also... I think you only get loyalty coupons for direct purchases from XILS, not from resellers.

... and it seems, not for each one ... ;)

I had purchased PolyKB II from Don't Crack back in 2010. The price was VERY low (89$ = around 68€ currently and even less in 2010) so an additional discount was not really necessary IMO.
Anyway i have registered it at my Xils Lab account.

Thats correct, you have to buy from Xil site, and not second hand of course. Some affordable purchases dont give you a discount. Globally, the fidelity vouchers are based on the total ammount of instruments you purchased on Xils site. Calculs are complicated, but yeah, the more you buy the better the fidelity voucher will be.

Dear XILS Lab,

I know it might be too early for some requests but just to let you know:

This morning I compared V+ to the VP-330MKI hardware and overall it's a pretty convincing emulation. But as always there are some smaller/unimportant differences like between two hardware units/different calibrations but also one big difference so far which I think is very important for a spot on emulation.

The attack envelope in the human voice section behaves differently on the hardware. On V+ it's like a normal attack time stage like on the strings section. On the hardware the attack slider in the human voice section seems to be part of a complete envelope that forms an attack at the beginning + a fixed decay stage and the volume falls back on a lower sustain level than it begins with when pressing a key. Of course this behaviour is monophonic and so, when you hold a chord or some notes in the lower octaves and play some notes in the higher octaves those higher notes are significantly quieter (as the lower sustain level is being held). This makes a big difference in sound and playing style so I think it should be noted for the next update. I remember this behaviour also from a Solina String Ensemble I once had.

Also this attack/decay behaviour is crucial for the gnarling human voice sound in the lowest notes, so I'd be glad if this would be emulated. I already used the mod envelope to form the special attack/decay but as it's polyphonic only (a mono switch would be nice here) you don't get the same result when playing (every new note triggers the V+ mod envelope), and also you have to route the mod envelope to every human voice tone independently which occupies 4 modulation slots, so it's not a good workaround.

Additionally it would be nice to have the formant controls of the human voice section as modulation destinations as the low gnarling/woody sound starts at a lower formant and shifts up a bit with keyboard position in the lowest octave. In case you need audio examples or think that my VP330 is broken, please let me know ;-)

Oh and when I'm at it - it would also be nice to have direct control over the ensemble effect speeds and bucket brigade low pass filter (like a brilliance control) as they also differ from hardware machine to hardware machine.

I know these are a number of requests but I'm just crazy about the VP/V+ and would like it to become as close as possible to the hardware.

That said I already love V+! I managed to get the strings spot on to the hardware... Thanks a ton!!!

I just bought the bundle from Don't Crack so I have no complaints ;). I just thought the information was useful for understanding how the fidelity thing works.

From reading this thread, I just checked my account a coupon code as well. Very cool. Thank you Xils!

I didn't pre-order because I wanted to make extra sure that this will work on my system. Although everything I have from Xils so far works flawlessly. Still... someone mentioned high cpu requirements? I just downloaded the demo and can't wait to try it out.

Besides the attraction of those "Vangelis" strings and choirs!!!! I'm also interested in checking out to see if I can get that "Kitaro" vocal lead and of course trying out the other aspects of this instrument. I remember when this first came out. At that time it was a distant dream and besides which I wasn't aware of the potential uses.

Kudos to Xavier and co. for thinking of doing this and also for thinking of emulating something that's very iconic but that hasn't really been done yet. Good call! I've got the sample set from Hollow Sun and it's great, but a proper emulation is on an entirely different level than just playing with samples. Besides which, the sampled version doesn't have the vocoder portion of the instrument, so: very well done guys! I hope this is a successful product for you! :D
