So the Propellerhead's forum is down. Post in here if you normally post there.

Well this is possible. But I have seen request for features some of their own REs it was stated they couldn't implement them because of SDK limitations. Also when Parsec was released Mattias stated in the PUF that the low CPU was achieved with the algorithms Pelle Jubel developed. I must say if they are truly using the same limited SDK and make their RE efficient as they are it says a lot about the coding skills at PH.kae wrote:I find it hard to believe that they have the same limitations as external devs. Most probably they have access to some private API's that are able to access stuff outside the RE's sandbox. That would be a normal thing to do. Just like Apple have lots of private API's on iOS that are not accessible for 3rd party app devs.krucial wrote:But they are using the same SDK with the same limitations, features etc. I don't know what the SDK looks like, but wouldn't they provide Devs with info how to optimize REs to make sure they more efficient for the platform? Why keep info like this to themselves? I mean it would be beneficial for all. I am not accepting thats its because it their tech they can code better.TheoM wrote:But it's in house, like all their own INCLUDED re which are cpu efficient. Obviously no one can code an RE as efficiently as the people who created it. IMO of course.

So, I was over at the FutureMusic magazine and Music Radar websites and tried to visit their forums:

Does that mean they've been offline for 4 months? Hopefully it won't take the Props this long to bring PUF back online.

Would it be presumptuous to assume that vBulletin will not be in business much longer? Or was it really just a stolen password and everybody is overreacting?Tronam wrote:So, I was over at the FutureMusic magazine and Music Radar websites and tried to visit their forums:

It usually only seems like overreaction if nothing bad has happened yet, but you get publicly raked over the coals if customer data is compromised. But even in worst case scenarios like Adobe's recent 43 million account breach and source code theft, I doubt they're going out of business anytime soon. I have a feeling the Props are using this opportunity to revamp the PUF, which would be a good thing because it's felt antiquated for ages and the spam was getting utterly ridiculous in the last few weeks before shutdown. I'm just glad KVR is run on phpBB.
