I really liked the thumb piano (?) and atmospherics on this. That chopping pad is really effective. The synth lead is sympathetic too (that's a *great* sound)

Like the disto guitar with the incidental harmonics. THat works really well. The twittering backdrop is cool, too. The beat is a little flat - I keep hoping the tempo will double.
This has a sound of it's own, though and is well produced with a really interesting set of sounds. Another good job.

Funny - I kind of like the beat on this one. It works, when I almost think it shouldn't. The atmospheric synths work well, too. I can't help thinking of Vangelis again when I hear the synth lead and pad sounds - maybe that's a reflection on how little exposure i have to this style of music? - but the groove sets it apart. Nice job.

I really like the setting of the piano in this. The arpeggio guitars with it set a nice groove and the atmosphere in the first half is well crafted and effective.
Then it takes off - good choon , great wall of shite.

Good drum work. SYnth arpeggios are good too. This has a cracking groove when it gets going and the sparse instrumentation lets us concentrate on those great drums. Interesting synth sounds too. Different from the crowd and good with it.

I don't know what to make of this. The synths and drums are cheesy as hell, but I can't help feeling that if this was Tom Waits or Nick Cave with a Jazz drumset and a piano, it would work well. There's a good song straining to get out of Eurovision music here.
Top marks for an emotive vocal, too.

Michael Norrell - Miss Phat Bootey
Nice transition from the intro to the full on Drum-N-Bass , although the DnB sounds a bit generic to my ears at that point. The breakdown works well - and the track definitely picks up in the latter half with the introduction of the vocal and the variation in the music.
This grew on me big-style over the course of 2 minutes

Weird sounding throughout, I find the sounds and rhythms to be interesting and challenging, but ultimately, I'm left thinking "what happened?" and the answer is "not much".
As an excercise in making something that sounds completely different, however, this is very effective, so kudos for that.
