and tbh... without MixFX and internal plugin goodies I cannot justify using S1 over Reaper... there is nothing or better very little in S1 I would rate higher/better than Reaper...
....
So the complete package is worthless for me and as a standalone product S1 just doesn´t do it for me...
Too many glitches...
Too many inconviniences...
Too restricted...
Too many features just implemented halfbaken...
I guess we have different opinions about Studio One and Reaper. Everybody is expecting the software to work in a certain way and I must admit, Studio One works just the way I like. There is no software to suit anyone's needs and trying to do that is a waste of time. The best PreSonus could do is satisfy the needs of the most people.

I would love to see a lot of features being added in Studio One, but as it is right now, it covers most of my needs and expectations. There is a feature in Pro Tools, dunno what's called, that let's you loop section, change section right from the mixer. I feel that's a great thing for mixing. Setting your mixer full screen and being able to play certain sections without going into arrange view.

Yeah, I guess Studio One does only the things for me wrong I am the most keen of... I am a bit nitpicky with certain things and when I see this misbehaviour and inconsistency with auto numbering plugins or events on Folder tracks loosing their content preview when not high enough and much other weird stuff I already get the desire to throw my machine out of the window...

Not because these would be showstoppers but I feel that as a very low quality characteristic... if someone works already that sloppy on this little things... what shall this imply for more important stuff...

Say a car manufacturer has a very good and technical convincing model out there... you look at it and make a test drive and you notice all these low quality details... outside there are faults in the painting...stuff doesn´t line up properly, during the test drive the glove box flap opens a few times, something is rattling...
Everything nothing really important and nothing which will hinder you going from A to B but honestely: Would you pay a high class price for this car???
Would you even buy this car???
I bet 99% of you turn round and go with only one sentence in mind: I´ve seen enough!!

I mean you can say the same about Reaper. If the developers can't be bothered to make a sane UI why should I have to waste my precious music making time looking for extensions, Themes and what not. It certainly gave me a bad impression and haven't bothered with it.

To go with a car analogy since that's seems to be what we are doing now. It's like buying a car with Mercedes engine, but it looks a Pinto. No matter how many coats of paint, spoilers, rims you put on it, it's still a Pinto. Maybe a Pinto wasn't a good car to pick, but I'm not really a car dude. Car analogies are stupid.

I didn´t want to say Reaper is perfect...(by far not)... but for me (that´s what matters to me of course) it´s doing many thing less silly than S1...

But what do you like better??

A Pinto in good condition with a mercedes engine (this would be Reaper for me) or a Mercedes in bad condition with a Pinto engine (S1 obviously)??

At the very end it´s of course a matter of taste (the DAWs not the cars... :hihi: )...
I´ve deinstalled everything S1 related and have canceled my Sphere plan already ... so my decision is made...

Now that was very funny! :hihi:

(I still like Reaper even though it may resemble a Pinto at times)

Then just stop moaning and use Reaper. I like both DAWs and from the immediate production point of view S1 is more comfortable. All tools to make a great track are there (both in Reaper and S1). Just choose and go ahead! Usually, the biggest problem to make a good track (no matter which DAW you use) is sitting between monitor and chair.

REAPER is an abortion, I left it and SONAR for Studio One Pro in 2015 and have been happy ever since.

(Hmm, I was replying to a post I thought was the last, apparently not, I'll just leave this here anyway.)

Funny, that was the reason I left REAPER for Studio One. I guess different features are important to different people!
Quit this nonsense! If everyone starts thinking that, we can as well close the KvR Forums ;)

It´s not only adressed to you but all the other wags here...:

Wow... and many of you were stating in the past how badly Reaper users were defending their DAW...
I remember words like fanboism...etc...

Is it not allowed anymore to be disappointed with a product I spent money on and talk about that???
Do you feel attacked in your choice by my opinion??? Just asking because of your reactions...
Was anything I said wrong??

And I personally find the car analogy nails the comparison 100%... no matter how funny you guys try to be...

I think you got that wrong. What the Reaperites usually do is asking in totally unrelated threads if people tried Reaper, or suggest to use Reaper. So... sort of the same like you did. :P
