I'm having the same problem reported earlier with EZ-Keys (1.3) and RC as a VST. I'm using the latest RC beta (4.1b5) and Studio One 5 fully updated. I also had EZ-Bass (1.07) assigned to a track, but didn't use it or assign any midi to it.
I had no problem creating the project with RC and EZ-Keys, working with them together, dragging/dropping chord progressions from RC to EZK. But when I closed the file and tried to re-open it later, Studio One became completely unresponsive and I had to terminate. Rebooted, tried again, same problem. I had to remove RC from my VST folder to get the file to open again.

Hi,
I'm seeing something I don't understand.
Here is the same phrase, without Lock:
and with Lock:
The manual says (and shows with pics) that Lock On is supposed to enable the voice leading. What I'm seeing (as posted above) seems the exact opposite.

I will try this with my older Studio One v4.5. So you just added an RC track and a EZKeys track, did some drag-and-drop, exited Studio One, and next time you tried to load the project it became unresponsive. I suppose you did not use soundfonts in RC. I hope I can reproduce this.
Thanks!

Hi Steve,
this may happen only when there is octave transposition applied on notes. I modified a 'chord generator' in the phrase editor:

If you have normal notes, it works as expected:

An idea: octave transposition is displayed in my debug version (e.g. "+1 Oct"), maybe it would be useful also in the released version...
Thanks,
Attila

Is it reproducible? It would be a big help if you could look up the composition file in the history, with that phrase.
Thanks!

Standalone version crashed while generating harmony for a phrase.
Is there info I can send in that would be useful?

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. Can you describe the procedure you'd like me to follow.musicdevelopments wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 2:38 pm Is it reproducible? It would be a big help if you could look up the composition file in the history, with that phrase.
FWIW, I think I may have just reproduced it. The crash happened immediately on the next Auto-Harmonize after switching from Major to Minor rules after having been Auto-Harmonizing for awhile with the Fundamental rules. The scale of the piece was minor (unchanged).

I've added a comp file that should crash for you if you do the above.
P.S. Is there any chance the Forum could be set to accept .rcComp files directly? (instead of having to zip them first)?

Hmmm. Offhand I think that would be more inconvenient than convenient if it were not toggleable.musicdevelopments wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 2:36 pm An idea: octave transposition is displayed in my debug version (e.g. "+1 Oct"), maybe it would be useful also in the released version...
Ideally, IMO, for the user to be able to choose exactly one, or a specific combination of (and even order of) the "availables" is best. Two main reasons: 1. Depending on the zoom level, only one item of info can often be seen anyway. 2. Even when zoomed in close enough to see multiple items, items other than what you want to see are effectively visual noise and only serve slow you down by causing you to have to mentally weed them out.
But don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to have the note letter display you added in 4.1b5, and will not complain about hard-wired "exactly two" (at least not right away

I don't think I used soundfonts in RC. I only used it to generate a chord progression, with EZKeys receiving input from RC. As I said, no issues for the 2+ hours I worked on the song. Only when I exited Studio One and tried to re-open the file later in Studio One did the lock-up occur. I was unable to quit or exit S1, even force quitting via Task Manager wouldn't stop its process. Only full reboot of computer.musicdevelopments wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 1:53 pm I will try this with my older Studio One v4.5. Thank you for your help!
[EDIT: I just checked an auto-backup file, and it shows I did not have EZKeys receiving input from RC. So all I used RC for was generating 4 chords, CTL-Drag to EZKeys, and edited from there. Aside from leaving RC on its own track in Studio One, I never used it again as I worked on the project. Hope this is helpful]
