+1 for MPE support!everasia wrote:@msvs
Sorry to de-focus the discussion from the 1.2 update for a moment,
Is it somehow planned to support MPE at a certain point? is it technically feasible?
I've seen this has been asked before but I did not find any official reply from you.
Sorry in case it has been answered already and I've missed it.
Also is there an "official" and more organized way to send Feature Request other than dropping thoughts here?
I know there is a quite active German forum (which is like chinese to me unfortunately) so I wonder whether FR poll already exists somewhere.

OMG yes, please, MPE support. I could use my roli rise seaboard. AFAIK it's simply a switching midi channels mechanism, so each note get's an own midi channel.

If I understand you correctly (and if I understand Manuel correctly), Avenger 1.2 will come with a core granular library that will be free update for all users. Additionally there will be a Granular expansion of lots more content, which is featured in the last video from about 7m30s, which I'd guess will be the same price as their other XPs at 70 euros.Lets dance wrote:is this libary going to be sell or its with the update?

I think MPE is relatively easy to implement, avenger would be very expressive!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I gave it another go to demo this Synth. And cant help it but it does sound gorgeus. But i also cant help on the fact that the GUI is very unusable at only 1080p 23inch monitor. Either you have to have bigger monitor or higher resolution but im not sure if that would help because some of the knobs are still so tiny it hurts eyes. Even really bad looking Xils Polymoog emulation (wich sounds good) is much easier to use and doesnt cause eye-strain.
One of the best sounding instruments is being hold back by very unfunctional GUI.
Shame

no trust me, Avenger looks absolut fantastic on higher resolutions. I have the 2560x1600 resolution. But 4k should look even more impressive. I can use it on up to 130% size, fits on the screen without problems, its needle-sharp and runs with 60hz.Either you have to have bigger or higher resolution but im not sure if that would help because some of the knobs are still so tiny it hurts eyes
We already thought about a solution for the future, creating a more tiny GUI skin, which you can use at 100% even on small screens. But the price is, that every subpage (amp/filer, OSC, ARP etc...) will be on its own page and tab. The workflow is way better, when you have everything on 1 screen (modulation drag and drop for example)
but we understand that there are still some people out there with small screens.

Most people use 1080P screens (most "normal" people use 1368 x 768...yes, it is true). Kinda weird this plugin doesn't fit on the most used screen resolution when set to 100%. 94%/95% (depending on the DAW) is necessary to get the whole UI on the screen.msvs wrote:no trust me, Avenger looks absolut fantastic on higher resolutions. oh no
not again the "what is the standard" discussion. We already had this
result: it depends of your point of view
fact is: you can very well work on a full hd screen. Its just a cosmetic thing. Its a synth, not a graphic tool.
but fact is also: Avenger looks best with screens above full hd!

you would not regret it.
I cant understand people who spend thousands of dollars in synthesizer and music equipment, but working still on a 720p screen and a weak computer.
The screen / working comfort is far more important for your creativitiy than you might realize. (as soon as you have one you will understand)

Sure, we agree about that. However, for many people it is a side-hobby, or they don't have the money to get a full blown studio set up.msvs wrote:you would not regret it.

I am running 2x 1080p for years now and i am only now considering updating to 2x 1440p because of plugins like Avenger and some games.

I would strongly recommend 16:10 instead of 16:9
Most tasks we do, require height (tracks in your DAW, emails, Websites etc)
even games benefit from 16:10

I have money for higher res screen but i dont have space for much bigger screen. And i am very comfortable using 1080P as with higher resolution i would put more work on my eyes whom arent already good because i have stigmatism.msvs wrote:you would not regret it.

I know it looks better at higher resolution (tried on 4k tv now) but i do not agree that everything on one screen is better for work. I have used virus plugin for many years (still sometimes use) and to be honest that is one of the best layout because the workflow for me is much better when i see only few modules in front of me instead of many, better focus when programing.msvs wrote:no trust me, Avenger looks absolut fantastic on higher resolutions. I really thought about updating my screen to a 40" 4k TV just because of Avenger. But that would mean buying new graphics as well which would lead to updating the motherboard which would basically mean changing the whole system. Since it is still working I decided to stick with what I have. It's not that bad working with Avenger on a 24" HD screen that I need to change everything - especially since this is a hobby which takes a few hours per month. I prefer spending my money on plugins
