Naw, one of the things about this computer that has been great is the dvd/cd drive has been so fast. I'm just frustrated after hearing about "30 minutes" when mine took the maximum (up to 45 minutes per disc.....no mercy

)

Doesn't make any sense other than it's me (I AM murphy's law)

GUI load time seems to be much much better with the new Omni version. It used to took forever to open the window on my old G5, but now it's less than a second (instant, in practice). And of course the same applies to Trilian. Very nice! And I very much like sounds loading fully in background, and the very good memory management features.

I ordered my copy of trillian.
How many authorization can I get? My new computer is dual boot with xp on
C and vista x64 on the D partition. Can I use trillian on both partitions?
I run cubase 4 and cubase 4 64 bit preview on vista . Can I use trillian in both? Can I get another authorization when I upgrade vista to windows 7 ?

yes.

Spectra has been terrific about auths, hope that isn't changing (seems from the above post no problems)

I don't know how many times I've had to auth with clean installs and the never-ending merry-go-round of computer stuff I've had, but it's always worked.

this one is using a bunch of patches that i made myself by combining one of the Stick soundsources and the 8string bass or in case of the leadsound by applying some noise FM to one of the sinewaves in Trilian.

I finally got a chance to play a little today. I had to increase the sample read ahead to 35000 - but it's sweet now. That only cost approx 200MB extra, but it's working fine.

I'm loving the articulations. I never used much with Trilogy - other than the few at the bottom of the keyboard on the true staccato patches.

I have a question about the "squeak" patches. Are these used on release layers as part of the "noise" or do we have to load them seperate? Would you play a "squeak" at the same time as an actual not? Or maybe a little after? Or can you probram it as a layer B for example?
