Doesn't appear to be that I can see. You might want to send them an email about that, so they can fix that in a future update.

I definitely miss an EQ (or a filter) on each sample slot.
Also, the "undo" feature works very weird, resetting all you do instead of your very last action.

Hm, undo works fine here, always goes back one step only.matteogk wrote:I definitely miss an EQ (or a filter) on each sample slot.

Some people have already requested the filter/EQ thing... I have to admit, I don't really see the point. The way I see it, you're messing with the spectral content in Iris, basically doing the work of filters and EQs with a higher degree of precision. If I highlight the frequencies that I need and leave out the ones I don't, why should I need an EQ after that?
I'm sure it was a conscious design decision to leave these out. Maybe my view is too limited, but I'm very comfortable with the filter on the master out, which can help to glue the sound sources together.

That's what I was thinking. In fact I'm using Iris as a substitute of EQ in some audio clips. It does magic.ariston wrote:Some people have already requested the filter/EQ thing... Agreed with reservations; there are certainly features I'd be happier to see added before that (timestretch and/or Radius playback rate, multi-point envelopes, more modulation routing options, more graphic selection tools, ability to change the FX chain series, maybe an Alchemy-style X/Y pad for dynamic mixing or a Rapture-style step-sequencer?)...standalone wrote:That's what I was thinking. ... but I can in fact see the usefulness of a less-surgical, more 'shaping'-oriented EQ per sample, so I think it's a valid request. Just not the most essential thing in my opinion.

About EQ per sample: selecting "dots" on the spectral content, means to select different pitches/notes (it's a musical choice then, not only a matter of frequencies), so I would like to maintain that "musical selection" and choose if it sounds brighter or darker, without affecting contents on the other samples slots.

Here is a sunday morning Iris Jam with some fresh patches, pretty much illustrating how I'm feeling this morning:

Thank's - sure, these are all patches from the subscription page, 2 new ones and the "Convoluted Church Horn" from Set 7 adding the animal-like tones...antoyne wrote:Nice one (again)Sampleconstruct wrote:Here is a sunday morning Iris Jam with some fresh patches, pretty much illustrating how I'm feeling this morning:

Well, to make a region brighter or darker, one could use a high and low pass filter, so the current band-pass filter could just become one of these. An EQ for just the selected region would be good, too.matteogk wrote:About EQ per sample: selecting "dots" on the spectral content, means to select different pitches/notes (it's a musical choice then, not only a matter of frequencies), so I would like to maintain that "musical selection" and choose if it sounds brighter or darker, without affecting contents on the other samples slots.
I like the idea of having all three--the addition of the two filters and an EQ to control the spectral content of just a selected region. The filters would be the easiest things to implement. But the more complex the changes, the more strain on the cpu's resources.
Something I also found myself wanting very early is the ability to carry a selection over to another sample. In other words, to select a region in one sample, and then have that same region selected when I moved to another sample.
(But first I want the ability to record in the standalone version.)

Yes, that's important. As a workaround, in case you haven't already figured it, you can uncheck the "clear selections on sample load" option in the menu. Then you can copy sample + selections to another slot and simply change the sample there.Jake Jackson wrote:Something I also found myself wanting very early is the ability to carry a selection over to another sample. Wasn't there a way to copy selection somehow? I could have dreamed it though..
Today i played around layering drumsounds. Three kicks, an 909, an 808 and an acoustic just to see how it would be. So my choice of samples to start with wasn't very exiting so i picked some "ready" drums and the result was pretty cool! Hihats worked very well also.
I do NOT regret getting this one...

Yes!! THX a lot, I didn't notice there were two undo sectionsCrackbaby wrote:there's two undo's! the one at the bottom left < + > works for each action .. the one at top ... no idea what it does but it wiped what i did ones![]()
It's weird, the one "acting strange" is clearly visible, the "good one" is hidden down there... but it's great to learn I can undo!!
