Props probably took the site down for good because of all the crying and complaining about RE's.

Yes. And they are still blaming Bulletin and the attack on them for being down, which I think is outrageous!
:?:

They took down the forum, because vBulletin has obvious security issues, at least with the version they use, so they decided to protect their user base. Really, what's outrageous about that.

A nice conspiracy theory. Maybe time to get back to the facts?

Does that mean they've been offline for 4 months? Hopefully it won't take the Props this long to bring PUF back online.
Would it be presumptuous to assume that vBulletin will not be in business much longer? Or was it really just a stolen password and everybody is overreacting?
There was no stolen passwords! Use google for God's sake and do some research
before you post all this shit! Mostly it was a demonstration, and what the
intruder claimed about it being a zero-day exploit, was a lie! It was easily
fixed by removing some admin rights names that were provided on november 18...

It also only affected "old" version of Bulletin. OMG... vBulletin will survive..
.. will Props.. ..Probably...

Post

Maybe you're right, but is Google a serious source for informations? Maybe the forum operators know a little more about it... and even if it's all bogus, better safe than sorry i guess.

35.000+ sites were attacked, they are all up and running! Props were NOT attacked,
and they are still blaming vBulletin for being down! This problem was solved
18.november. It's outrageous that they still blame vBulletin! What is it that you
don't understand??

Post

I think you got that wrong. They don't blame vBulletin that their forum is down. They took their forum down, due to vBulletin forums being attacked. That's a difference.

Post

As usual, Props do not pay any respect to us users, or even vBulletin.
We, users, have spent a lot of time making the forum what it is today.
Tutorials, solutions.. blablabla.. They have not even stated that they
WILL be up and running again. As for re-designing the forum, they can
do that without taking the "old" one down..

Read a few posts up.. and the statement on Props forum page.. This has no longer
to do with vBulletin.. Period!

Well, you recommended to search for the problem on Google, which is not very helpful... maybe you could link to an official statement from vBulletin, saying that the (old) software has no security issues. That would be a bit more helpful.

Google will give you 100's of topics from 100's of different serious sites about
the topic. And you choose to believe in Props.. Come on! (no offence) ;)

I'd rather believe they did it to f**k over their users.

Well, I read it a loooooong time ago, and I don't want to spend too much time
on this, but this could point you to the right direction:

http://www.redorbit.com/news/technology ... rs-111813/

Because it's no issue anymore, it's not on the first Google page anymore when you
search. Now give me some links for what YOU and others are implying.. ;)

In all friendlyness :D Cheers ;)

I don't think so. But they might be so arrogant that they don't care... ;)

The real question is: What will Propellerheads give its users as compensation for this fiasco?

Discount! :D LOL. The biggest fiasco is the EULA about not being able to re-sell RE's. I have spent $4.500+ on RE's for the last 12 months, and I'm now only buying
top notch RE's and what I really need. Who loose.. The small devs, Props and the
poor guys who cannot afford a decent RE. Who win.. ..My friends and the owner of
the disco I usually go to.. ;)
