It's not enough. Without the "big screen" option, I need to use 300% magnification on the Windows magnifier. With it, I only need 200%.Teksonik wrote:You know it has a large screen mode right ?Torchlight wrote:Another synth with a UI that I have to use the Magnifier to see. Developers need to understand that some people are using the combination of high resolutions and small screens. For example, the Surface Book has a resolution of 3000 x 2000 but only a 13" screen.

I wish all synths would offer vector based GUI. It´s the best thing. And all should offer too multi-touch...means they should let me change several parameters at once when using a large touch-screen and not focus on one parameter like a mouse/trackpad.

I agree that the GUI is a bit hard to read. With "Big Screen" I cannot see the complete GUI on my 24" and with the default size fonts are bit fuzzy.
The standard page looks IMO also a bit cluttered with parameters. The easy page is a bit better but I don't like the design. Sorry, but It looks horrible.
The preset manager needs some more features eg. to accept the "enter" key in the search mask. This extra step to push the "find" button makes not much sense.
It seems the cursor keys are not usable inside the search results to go thru the searched presets?
I think the GUI needs a complete overhaul or at least different skins. It needs a different color scheme, different and higher quality rendering and some more dynamically resizing as we see with many other synth.
Automation parameter of the XY pad is displayed as " Predator2 ---------". This should be fixed.
I had also a crash with the audio engine in combination with the arp and the XY Pad. If I can reproduce it I will fill a bug report.
Sound is excellent, I don't know if they improved something with the engine but it's still the Predator sound I like a lot and use very often. A powerful and sometimes very analog sound.
The improved unison feature, the XY Pad, the morphing between different waves... very nice and worth the upgrade. But the GUI needs a bit more work IMO.

That's basically what I said. The main issue here is the gui. Everything else is very well done. And the usual bugs will get squashed in time, no doubt. But compared to version 2, this thing below, is a masterpiece:4damind wrote:I think the GUI needs a complete overhaul or at least different skins. I thought you can only upgrade like for like eg predator 1 > predator 2 or explorer III > explorer IV (which includes predator 2).

To speak about the positive things I have to admit that Predator 2 chord strum function is much better than the one in version 1. With the previous version I rarely used it, but now I will
+The CPU performance is unbelievable !! So cool sounds so little cpu,
I only can compare it to FM8 (Another second version

Maybe they figured only people with real computers would be using Predator 2 ?Torchlight wrote:It's not enough. I think they might have miscalculated the size of the Big Screen. Most DAWs place some kind of toolbar or border around a plugin and that's the part that makes it not show 100% here except in FL Studio if I hide the config toolbar.
Like I said before if they expose the GUI files outside of the .dll it will allow people to skin it to their liking. Such as DUNE2, DIVA etc.......

Although i love the new GUI, i have to agree about the size. Not very handy to make the sizes somewhat "inbetween" the values i would like to see. Example; i love the way U-He done this. With steps from 80% to 200 or 400% (dont remember exactly), in 10% increments. Really practical.Teksonik wrote:Maybe they figured only people with real computers would be using Predator 2 ?Torchlight wrote:It's not enough. Oh I agree, incremental sizing would be wonderful but it is what it is now.
I can use the Big Screen for patch programming in one DAW on my studio computer so it works for me here but I do sympathize with those who find it too big or too small.

Sure. I am not (really) complaining either. Using FL Studio, so the big ui is fitting perfectly @ 1080p @ 100%Teksonik wrote:Oh I agree, incremental sizing would be wonderful but it is what it is now.![]()

But still, improvements can be made.
That being said, this synth is awesome. The sound...........i love it.
