Valid points indeed. Especially the CPU-friendly Nexusmsvs wrote:Nexus is totally different tool. Its a perfectly optimized preset player, and has its own, unique architecture. For example Avenger lacks RoundRobin and the Keyzone mapping possibilities of Nexus, Nexus can have 64OSCs on 16Layers - so the Hollywood XPs for example would be impossible to make in Avenger. Furthermore Nexus has a since 10 years growing library with all kind of genres, it furthermore has an unbeatable CPU performance (due to it's sample focused architecture)

Actually the very reason that Avenger looked like it can make all the Nexus' sounds make me wonder. Now that Manuel showed that some things are not achievable in Avenger is more clear what each can do.EnGee wrote: If you see the videos posted here, it is easy to have the conclusion that Avenger is a Synth mainly, and very capable synth as well.
PS: I have the piggybank ready for Avenger since I first found out about it somewhere in the summer, even before the GUI was released (and after purchasing Phalanx)

The Nexus thing is interesting. While yes there are things that Nexus can do that Avenger can't, I'd be staggered if it didn't eat into its market hugely. Nexus is, I think, primarily seen as an EDM preset machine, and Avenger on this evidence can handle all that with massively more scope. Presets, yes, but useful macros, never mind its seemingly unlimited editing potential. Its sonics and conventions (e.g. the SQ section) are very similar, but more versatile - even the presets here have tags, rather than the tiny and very basic Nexus browser window. And having the drum sequencer and swappable kits - especially combined with individual outs as promised - it's another feature making it vastly more useful than Nexus in this field.
It's a very different animal to Nexus, but I think it will appeal to a lot of the same users, plus many many more.

Speaking for myself I have zero interest in Nexus or Phalanx but I'm prepared to buy Avenger as soon as it is released.noiseboyuk wrote: It's a very different animal to Nexus, but I think it will appeal to a lot of the same users, plus many many more.

To be honest, personally, I'm not that interested in samples or samples based synths, but Avenger (as it is for me) is an excellent wavetable/VA synth. Manuel, I don't understand something here? You said I was on the list for beta testing and you confirmed it and now everyone here is beta testing and I am left out in the cold? I sent you an email and pm inbox which is ignored....
Did I do something to offend you?

Thanks to Manuel for teh nice new video.
For the records if that was not clear from my post about the FFT spectrum filter i am beta testing Avenger too at the moment and i am indeed quite impressed by it. Really a lot of features there and sounds great too. CPU use also seems to be reasonable, even at my quite old Core 2 quad Q6600 CPU (running Windows 10 64-bit).
Avenger Seems to complement well with some of my current favorite synths like e.g. Tone2 Icarus, Synapse Audio The Legend, Waldorf Nave, Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V and others.
