Nice sounds. Looks like M-Audio Axiom ProExamigan wrote:Nice!4damind wrote:For fun... I made a small video of the evening session while composing. The track uses mostly Cypher2 (4 instances) for the bass/arp. Repro-5 was used for the noisy sound and Predator2 for some small fills.

I love the sounds in this. Now I am just trying to name that MIDI keyboard controller you're using... can't figure out which one it is.

Hopefully some of these will it to an expansion sound pack or you release them yourself?

This is really evocative. Nice build up and lovely 'wind' sounds there, deep in the mix.plexuss wrote:Here's 5 Cypher2's, factory 5D presets slightly tweeked, minimal mixing, all played with a Seaboard. Good with headphones.![]()

@everybody who thought I talked about the SOUND presets of Cypher 2.
No, I think they are most excellent and the synth itself SOUNDS beautiful. My only complaints have been about the USER INTERFACE and the colors of the UI. That's it.
None of the GUI PRESETS (there are several to choose from) are good in my opinion and that's what I was criticising.. NOT the sound or the sound presets.
Hope this clears it up (got a few PM's from various people so obvisouly I wasn't clear on what I disliked about the product). I'll edit the original post that caused all the controversy so that there can be no misinterpretation.

All good and polite. Some confused.. which I understand as Cypher 2 sounds ridiculously good. Not sure how anybody could have misread my original post as I kept praising the sound (I clearly gave it 10/10).
.. now don't get me started again on the UI. It makes me want to tear out my hair.. the little I have left.

I came across a bug on my Mac Pro (2013, 10 core), the first tests I made on a Macbook Air, using the standalone mainly and everything was fine. Now I installed it on my Mac Pro, and the standalone creates mainly crackles instead of those nice sounds. Loading the plug-in in Bitwig is fine, no crackles whatsoever.
Anybody else playing Cypher on a Mac Pro?

cypher2 struggles sometimes (& crackles) on my macbook pro (in logic X); seems if i use more than one instance, i risk that happening. plays better once the cypher2 window is closed...Tj Shredder wrote:I came across a bug on my Mac Pro (2013, 10 core), the first tests I made on a Macbook Air, using the standalone mainly and everything was fine. rebooting my mac, and JUST opening logic helps. fxpansion is aware of the problem, and we should have a better experience with a coming update.

Just to test it quickly, I fired up Mainsatge and there its fine as well. Its not a big deal, as the standalone is only useful as you fiddle with the demo...; - )

Is there a way to have finer control of filter cutoff? The filter cutoff knob moves in relatively big steps. Same for modulation of filter cutoff. The amount of modulation from zero to the first step on the control is too much.
