Sepheritoh - wow! when i lived in the uk i could never get the GPO to deliver like that! (sorry crap joke) this is truly beautiful and obviously accomplished music. the only thing i don't like are the curtains behind the guitars in the photo, though i can't hear them on the recording!

Those cutains will HAVE to go now. :x

It is becomming a major distraction to my future direction in being.

Thanks for your very kind comments. :D

knockman, thanks for making my first ever review a good one. :D

pt III
  1. If anyone knows a better way to do this please let me know... grmbl mbml
  2. Barnadine - Cool tune, the fill-in sounds in the background nicely complement the minimalistic guitar & vocals. Good singing too
  3. They Might Be Markleford - Spot on. Really good tune, in particular the bridge :D I might still vote SM if he enters though.
  4. nikp2000 - guitar's a bit offbeat, and the 1:12 synth lead should either have a less loud attack or not be legato, there's too much difference between the notes. Oh, and fade-outs suck
  5. Col.G - Happy tune... I'd say the bass is ruining it, the attack on the bass sound is too sharp for the quick repetition, gives an irritating droning, hammering effect. I like the rest of the tune though
  6. Erki - Don't know what a "butter" song is,but this is... the last part of the fantasy film where the brave warriors return to their families. Or something. But a pretty good (be it a tad cheesy) filmscore it is.
  7. Koorby - Very good sounding orchestra samples, and good use made of them as well. Except for the strings in the intro I like all of this; sounds, composition & arrangement. Well maybe the timpani's abit too loud, but that's nitpicking :)
  8. Sepheritoh - And another orchestral piece... Some fine guitar playing, though I don't think it fits well with the orchestra sounds, and after 1:15 there isn't really happening anything anymore
  9. Bagungie - Hmm... Can't say much about this one... it's too much muzak to my taste, not really interesting even though it's a 9/8. Sorry :(
  10. Haghi - Nice idea, but not much structure in the song, and the sounds aren't really distinguishable in the mix, sounds a bit messy. Did I already mention fade-outs suck? :)
  11. paradiddle - "Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later."
  12. Shane Sanders - I only know Nico from the VU, so I'll take this tune as reference to her strangenss :) weird whistling sounds are cool. I'd have liked some more beats, to me more than the first half of this sounds like intro
  13. pheeleep - SpookKeys breakbeat - kewl... sounds good, haven't got any comments really..
  14. Guitarjeff - Had I liked The Nuge, I'd probably have liked this too, but alas. Anyhoo, this is really well made, I like the layered vox, and reluctantly admit being jealous of the incredible guitar playing.
  15. Ixox - "From east Europe" - if you say so, I think it might just as well be from the south of France.. But anyway, this is really good, sounds as if it's a recording of a bunch of musicians on a street corner
  16. vishals - I'm not really into this kind of house/disco, but this is a really catchy tune, and your voice isn't so bad that it should be so far in the background. Accordeon is definatly a stroke of genius. well done
*disclaimer* don't take anything too seriously because I have no taste whatsoever.

Erki wrote:Thanks to everyone who commented on my song. :) Almost everyone says it´s cheesy, and well i guess it is haha. When i made it i had just watched an old swedish fantasy movie from the 70/80:is called "The lionheart brothers". And it has that cheesy sound to it, synth-ish string sound with some synth harp-ish stuff going on. So i was inspired by that. :D
whoa... you're probably not going to believe I wrote review no. 35 before I read this!

review time page 1:

as always, I do not accept responsability for any psychological and/or fysical harm these reviews might do. As always, my review are completely biassed and in no way objective (being objective is for pussies who dont have an opinion :D ) and also completely worthless because Im not only an amateur, but also an amateur that s*cks :idiot:

Donkey tugger – 12 foot lizard
Omg you are one hell of a tormented soul m8! I especially like your voice, it sounds so…erm…alcoholic (male Janis Joplin as we say) :drunk: ? Nice song, didn’t make me happy tho. Can I ask for a little more bass or something?
Freeztar – Beleza
2 songs on 1, but imho they don’t blend together that well, sorry. Very well played, nice sound and all, but I don’t dig it as a whole.
Duncan Parsons – The chimp who wasn’t there
ROFL! I have to love this! And I do love it! I hear the spirit of Monty Python in this one
Wopelka – Rain dance
Nice flow, great rhythm, rides like a choo-choo train, only too bad I could hear your German accent (“we keep on leWning” :singer: , sounds like Arnie The Governator, hehehe, just kidding :box: )
Mr. Me – After Eve
Nice background music, not really my thing to listen to, but of course that’s strictly subjective
Beardedone – JUBWHA
Ooo, nice drums, great full sound contrabass (?). Really nice
Blue Days – Loosing
Sounds a bit too ‘90 house to me, I think this is just a beat with a sample of someone singing over it, it doesn’t really add too much to the singing, sorry
Farlukar – Ergopro
I like that snaredrum, its so prominent but its not disturbing me, I especially like the end of the song (no, that’s not meant in an ironic way)
Fst – Upturn
It didn’t bore me, so must have been worth listening to. And as for being cheesy, who cares?
Bastien – Ninety-Four
Normally not my thing, but yours is so dark( A - C# - C still works huh), I kinda like it, except for the really sharp sound that comes in once in a while (electronic snare?), it really hurts my ears (esp. at 38-39 sec)
Richie Bee – 50 Second Getaway
Nice! Good song, good sound, good vibe, nice guitars, nice drums, nice horns, nice organ, only a little too short (but that’s only because I liked it)
Kriminal – She’s alive
I love the filter use on the lead. Good sound, as a song maybe too short to bring some more variation (get up a fifth somewhere?)
Spyro – El futuro de la humanidad
This song jumps out compared to the other ones, first of all genre and second of all Portugese sounds cool. Best one I’ve heard on page 1, this one is radio-ready if u ask me, I want more! :hail:
Ianweb – Ceycal
The problem with ambient (?) is that it bores me and reminds me of movies, not music, sorry, not your fault, its just me that’s an *sshole
Ok, my signature picture was too big, out of protest, this is the non-picture version of my signature

Thanks. It is difficult to try and fit an full symphony in 2 minutes, but the last part was the sort of finale, where a lot less was supposed to happen and everything slow down. For some it works, for some not.

I've only heard a few clips of theirs from when I tracked down Optigan samples for use in my Pink and Scary Contest entry last year. :) Perhaps I'll have to check them out again.

Vishalshetye - Nice arrangement and dynamics. The fade out does not work for me. I also thing the vocals should be brought up (don't be shy). The synth that comes up with the vocals the first few times is a little too loud for me (it caps the dynamic range several decibels above everything else). Good stuff though and groovable. P.S. You don't need the "the". (still kinda works though)

vishals - a very happy sound, good for smiling to, plus my infant son, a good barometer of positivity, is now dancing.
