I would assume the customers who bought it knew it didn't have sample import. So I don't see why that would put refx in a bad light/grace in the first place.

A few suggestions:

1. IMO, the font size could be made a bit bigger for all the main tabs (librarian, routing, modulation, arpeggiator).

2. Regarding undo/redo, when changing presets, the preset name in the top bar changes, but the change is not reflected in the "Presets" column of librarian. A minor thing really, but just thought to point out.

3. This thing has been bugging me a bit ever since I got Nexus4. Can the search bar be made a little taller and wider (essentially bigger) and also positioned a bit better? I think the search bar, the search history arrows and reset button (optionally audio preview on/off button and volume knob as well) could be placed above the tag area above the presets column. Please see the screenshot below.

I have a question for owners of the latest Nexsus. After updating to the latest version, the number of presets added to the Starter version has decreased drastically. Unless I was wrong, before the update there were probably over 1000 or even more factory presets and now there is a poor number on the website, which is exactly 338 factory presets. Can you write something more as it looks quantified now? It seems to me that the update simply took away the opportunity to enjoy more presets with sounds and forces us to buy individual and very expensive packages. This stops being funny and becomes mere greed ....

Post

Do you already own Nexus 3 and you're looking at the Nexus 4 upgrade? Then it's showing you the number of additional presets you will get.

If I'm logged out of the website it says starter with 3883 presets.

Post

I have Nexus 2.
Yes, I was logged in. After logging out, he shows 3,883 presets :) And this bastards play so with users. But all in all I shouted unnecessarily. It's time to apologize .....

      - Added "Follower" FX that allows flexible volume based modulations.
      - Added vu-meters between FX.
      - Added "step-envelope" as a modulation source.
      - Added inverted shapes for mod-matrix sources.

      - Removed annoying tooltip in librarian.

      - The VST3 version didn't load its skins on first open.

I have a question to Nexus 4.5 users. Now when you start with Init, can you add more sources (oscillators, sampler) to it or exchange it?

That minor point update's new feature list is roughly on a par with the update to 4.0.

Whatever happened at ReFx, I'm glad it happened.

there were never "evil". I guess most people didnt realize, when updating to 4.0, that there will be a long free update span, until 5.0.
It was actually planned, that more updates will follow for free over time
if i cant adjust the end to prevent clicking
will be adressed

That's great, but you cannot blame customers for that. ReFx's track record is to have a major update on each point version, then free minor updates and fixes. So there was nothing for any customers to base their decision upon except that near feature-free 4.0 update.

I guess it was a cashflow thing, ReFx needed more income to develop the product to where it needed to be. Okay... and now Nexus 4.5.3 is a really good update from 3, so it worked out in the long run - a very big shift in ReFx's development cycle. Just don't blame the customers for not genuflecting on the original release!

Is it possible to make presets from scratch in Nexus now?

No, but there are more editing options.

VPS Avenger is a better choice if you want to create your own sounds.
