Well I got a set of warpig's pretty much the day they were available, They cost me £100 for each, The set I'm waiting to buy for I'm not sure which guitar yet cost £115 each and that is AFAIK the going rate (£5 or £10 less on some models or could be a bit more with covering options and whatnot). So yeah even though they are hand made/scatter wound over here they aren't cheap, I think Tim and co have always just sold their offerings at what he values them at regardless of location. Don't know what that would be in USD $ but if it sounds about the same then we pay the same

Looking forwards to what you make of the Carvin when it arrives and what you are going to do for a jazz or j-type bass when you've financially recovered

I think this is going to be the last one for some time. Gotta clear out some ibbys to soften the blow. KIDS!: Don't get your teeth veneered until AFTER an order comes in and it's paid for

Speaking of Carvin's, I've always wanted to build a guitar using one of their bolt on necks. As much as I hated the sound of my early Carvin (don't worry, hibidy, yours will be better than mine was, judging by the better tone woods you're getting), it was one of the best playing guitars I've had. I wish Carvin still did the graphite bars and ebony fretboards that they used to do, it's kind of sad to think that they've had to back away from those forward thinking kinds of ideas.

One thing I can tell you is this is EXACTLY what I was hoping for tone wise with high gain. Thick, meaty bridge with a nice clear neck. Can do creamy neck leads (though I can't play

) and BIG CHUNKY BALLSY chug. Clear, rich.

Haven't done too much with clean but I dig the coil split push/pull.

Not setup quite the way I want. They put "elixers" on so can't tell if those are just tight or if they put 10's on (feels stiff to me like 10's)

One flaw so far. The truss cover is not dead center. Only someone as picky as me would ever care

I'll put some pics up later but WARNING, they are not even in the ballpark of how beautiful this guitar is. I think I'm going to borrow my dads Nikon (though I don't know shit about good cameras/photography

I think they shipped it with 10's which are too stiff for me, BUT, it plays nice and sounds almost unimaginable. I'll put 9's on it tomorrow and see if I'm still into it

I like it but I am not a fan of zebras...not that that matters because I would use one in a second because looks do not affect the sound. Tune-o-matic with strings through the body =

for me.

How is the heel, it looks a bit chunky and clunky, I kmow you are like me and like the contoured heel joints so how does this one feel?

Well, everybody knows that cream pickups are creamier and black pickups are darker. Thus, when you mix the two, you get the best of both worlds. Literally.
