Apple comes round your house and say well give you cash to stop making beats for ever. How much will it take for you to comply?
that would imply that apple paid ben to stop programming/making software forever. the likelihood is that they paid him a lot of money to continue doing what he loves, but for them

so maybe, instead of ordering us to stop making music (i don't make 'beats'), they pay us a lot of money to make music for them

Even though I am so damn sad to see Camel Audio vanish as a company, I cannot do anything but agreeing with the above. Ben & Company - cheers. You worked hard and I truly hope you earned as much money as many of us suspect you did.

Now, if you are reading this Ben. Please please. Put some hallucinogen in your boss morning coffee, and convince him/her/it to release Alchemy v2 for all platforms - and while you're at it - revive and update the old Sound Diver too, ok? :)

Nope, it doesn't imply anything of the sort. You're over thinking it.
If you're playing, just concentrate on what your price is. Simple as that.

No doubt there, just ask the mental aq bloke how skint I am, but don't confuse what I'd pay to stop you with what I can afford

All those "dope ass" musicians/actors/companies/weed farmers/whatever are the same. Come on, we need better trolling than playing the "oh noes, de sold it for da monay" stuff.
Defending someone by comparing to weed farmers? It shows the defending itself is weak. That should be the last resort when defending someone :hihi:

the implication is given by the context

But I've just told you it isn't how you see it, you have got the poo end of the stick and assuming something that isn't there. Labouring the point to insist your interpretation trumps my statement won't change anything though, but please, do as you wish. I won't lose sleep over it.

Exactly, I can't see them taking the money to do nothing, or to have Alchemy technology broken up and never see the light of day; it makes far more sense if they were told they would be continuing to develop Alchemy *in some way*, even if it was as part of some larger app or project. As many of us have said, these are not highly materialistic people, not that money was unimportant but I just can't see it being the sole or even main motivator.

play the game, damnit !! how much money would apple have to offer you to stop eating pizza forever ??

I wish Apple pays everyone that make 'beats' to stop making them forever. I would buy a Mac Pro if they do so, I promise.

I dont think apple payed them for stopping, seems apple took over and the whole team from now on will work on apple projects like Logic, garageband and mainstage... Guess what will be part of Logic with the next update?

what is it about apple buying camel that makes people constantly bump this thread? sure it sucks but its not THAT BIG of a deal! no?
