Yeah, it's very well done indeed.

Coktor says he's going to share the patches he used in that with us too. Can't wait to play that funky bass sound!

Just FYI, for those of you who don't like PayPal there is an option now to buy Poly-Ana through Share-it! (exclamation mark theirs).

Cheers! (That one's mine. ;) )

Well, I have waded through this thread for quite a bit...there's a lot here. However, I am very, very, very disappointed in the (lack of) support from the development community on this site...shame and a sin. One of the lessons that I learned is: if one builds a synth, do not ask questions in the dev forum! They'll all be showing up for the unveiling to pick you apart. Yikes!

Personally, I found that forum to be very unkind. There are new-bees trying to learn, and these "high and mighty" programmers (as one member of the byte-based gestapo put it) throw them resources that are really intended for advanced sorts with years of experience. This, of course, is a reflection of an unbalanced ego, simply put. These types are usually not team players and have an awful time in the workplace. Managers usually give them "special projects" to keep them from disrupting the team. Don't tell me how good you are- help me out! (This is what new-bees are looking for.) Musicians also have a tendency to do the same thing- show you how good they are, but won't teach you how.

While a few people in this thread will forever be working on a "better algorithm," others will be putting their offerings on the VAT/VSTi table and making music. One can tell a tree by the fruit. Although AQ's fruit is not ripe yet (as advertised), it will be. In fact, I'd be curious (and a bit anxious) to see what other offerings are made in the future!

As a C/C++ guy, I admire the fact that AQ picked up his skill set in art school- very ambitious. In fact, I can attest that 4 years or more is normally what is required to take on a project of Poly's magnitude. In addition, he's got that artistic sensibility and a profound love for music to compile into your code, as well. You've done a fantastic job, man and you ought to be proud! I'm certain that this creation will continues to evolve and impress many of this board's visitors.

Behind every successful VST/VSTi, is a geek squad telling you how wrong you are. ;)

Thanks G&L. Oh and I'll try to help you out in the Dev board too. While certainly a bastion of oneupsmanship, there CAN be a lot to be learned in there as well. ;) I even asked a couple of questions in Dev that contributed a couple of lines to Poly-Ana that resulted in some noticeable CPU improvement.

I've been neglecting the dev board a bit lately as I'm just currently out of questions, but I always answer if I see a question that is narrow enough in scope (i.e. sometimes the big picture questions like... "I'd like to program plugins, what should I do?" are beyond me. )

Don't let all the smartypants in the dev board scare you off. Best thing is to get them arguing with each other, then you'll be able to filter out some free lessons and very esoteric expert knowledge from among all the crossfire. ;)

Cheers!
