Time for a little bump

Post

I'm just curious - is anybody experiencing sudden/random CPU spikes with the latest v1.70 release? :)

For anyone interested, here's the V1.70-release:
http://www.prodyon-virtual-gear.com/dow ... 70_DLL.rar

Fixes / Changes:

- added per-layer reverb unit.
- synced "Rate/Vibr".
- added second minibrowser for SF2 bank/patch.
- removed "Layer Lock" feature, caused problems with FXP/FXB.
- added global "Performance Mode".
- added per-layer pitch mod envelope.
- colourcoded MIDI Channel and Audio Outputs.
- smaller bugfixes.

Using it in a project now but haven't seen any spikes or anything like that.(Dual core XP3 3.3, 3GB RAM, Reaper)

But it does crash when SF's larger than 150mb are loaded when other SF players do not (I tested Shortcircuit with the same presets loaded) so still hoping for a DFD feature.

However, I do wish the browser could use the whole height and not 60% as is now because of the logos, and of course the old requests that browser remembers folders and doesn't zap to the last in the list upon selection.

Oh, and soloing more than one channel will not work -- all channels will be silent then.

Other than that it's really good. Very inspiring with ease of use and I like the big GUI.

Ok, great! :)

DFD might come in the future, can't say for sure. But it should load >150MB soundfonts. Weird.

The browser will be stretched in the next release (when i release v1.70 officially). "Zap to last in the list"? Not sure what exactly you mean?

Solo-Problem will be fixed also, thanks!

Congratulations! I haven't seen this much interest in a soundfont player since SFZ. :-)

Yeah amazing. A big hit this. :tu:

I know I already asked a lot for freebie, but what are the possibility of implementing a search feature in the browser like in Shortcircuit2?

Been using Phenome full speed in a project now and that's what I miss the most.

hi,

there's still a problem here, when I open a project with Phenome loaded on a track, I've got the good old error massage (c:\...), but click ok, and all is going fine.
Strange.

Seems that Phenome likes this message so much that it can't stop to show us, even if there's no problem now with the soudbank...

cheers
Phil

Phenome loves your C: drives  Sorry for this!
Have to find a better solution in the future / next update(s). Seems that this is not working sooo well .... :)

34 pages for a soundfont player! This really shows the interest. :-)

Just like you say, "Soundfonts aren't dead!"

Thanks so much for this player!! (I've never played with SF2 files until I saw your thread here......)BUT, I can't get it to play any sounds.
I have 2 internal drives... C:Program\Cakewalk\VST\Phenome (.dll) and also the folder which has the config.txt file.

The other drive is... D:Samples\Phenomedata

I changed config.txt file to read: D:samples\Phenomedata; (as you've adviced)but, I get that error box when I click on a preset (from the sounds you provided).
Could you please let me know how to resolve this? (Sorry, if this has been answered already, but I didn't quite understand what the solution is and how to apply it.....newbie :help:)
Thanks again!!
You're welcome!

Make sure you add a "" to the drive letter, e.g.:
"D:\samples\Phenomedata;" !

Let me know if that works! :)

I did this "D:\Samples\Phenomedata;" as you've adviced, but when trying to access a sound from this folder (in Phenome of course), I click on a particular sound and the folder closes. It puts me back to seeing drives as follows (not at my DAW right now...but to this effect)...

A:
B:
C:
D:

When I get back into the D: drive and try another sound, it does the same thing (as above).
How can I get this resolved? (I've installed V1.7 in Sonar8.5PE, with XP SP3).
Thanks,
SW

Tried re-installing everything? Restarting your computer? Sometimes simple things like that make wonders happen... :)

Did you make sure you've selected "Preset" browsing and not SF2 browsing?

Hi Dennis. Somewhere along the way things got messed up and for the life of me I couldn't get Phenome to function right. So I've deleted all and will be waiting for the 'final package' to arrive.
I am sure it's my fault, but then, I am by no means a computer expert and understand very little of all the work arounds provided here.

Again, thanks for all the work you have done so far and I hope to enjoy your creation when it's finished.

Greetings,
Madeleine
