" I'm loving the Synthix as I've always wanted an ELKA Synthex in software form above just about any other synth. So,I wrote this demo song for you guys. It's oldschool early-80s Disco!
Everything but the drums are Synthix; Brass, Bass, Strings, Lead....."

Thanks to Adam Borseti

Thanks to Ingonator for clarifying the demo use policy. I've gone ahead and deleted the Synthix demo from my computer until such time as I'm ready to purchase.

Xavier/Lotuzia: very sorry if I've offended with my question. If you'd like, I'll delete the PolyKB player from my drive and relinquish the authorization code back to you. Thanks, and apologies once again.

Actually I'd misunderstood this - or at least taken the plural 'demos' to refer to demo pieces rather than the demo software, as I thought we were just talking about one softsynth in this discussion.

I'd thought what was meant was using the demo pieces recorded with the Synthix to make something else.

It's true I did this myself with Xavier's birds demo, but that was before the software was released. I was questioning how a demo piece could be creatively used when the software was now available to buy anyway - and I'm wary of people who take a section of someone else's music and stick it into something of their own. But it seems that isn't what was intended.

I'm sure that won't be necessary Andre and I can't see where you'd be offending here with a sincere question! :)

@andrelafosse :
No need to delete anything you got !

You're right I didn't clarify the use of the dongle free demo of our products.
I'm not a lawyer and I'm not aware of what other companies are doing, but I thing that these demos are there to help the customers to make their decision to buy or not.
To help customer a little better, I removed the clicks some times ago (thanks to some wishes regarding the Xils-la contest). I know that these demo can now be used deeper, but also tested deeper.

But all of this is matter of trust. I mean that there are limitation in that demo which seems to be annoying enough to jump to the store if you like it and want to use it a lot.

If you need time to make your decision, if you need to make some music with it before, that means that you like it and when you can, hopefully you will buy it.

@ingo and Nielzie, thanks for answering to Andre

@sweep : thanks too. you're right about the audio material. The audio demo made by XILS-lab can be used freely, but for all the other demo tracks, the rights are own by the artists who kindly provide it, so can't be used without their approbation and without keeping their credits.

Best regards
Xavier

Thanks guys, but thinking it over I feel disgusted with myself for even asking in the first place. I know first-hand, myself, how it feels to have people downloading one's freely given work and then not paying any money for the commercial releases. It's just not appropriate for me to consider it as a possibility in the first place, especially under the circumstances.

Again, sincere apologies to all at XILS.

BTE xavier I think the the no-dongle POLYKB demo is version 2.0.20 when the full product is 2.01? Is that right? Is the demo behind one version?

I am talking about the full POLYKB II DEMO found here:

https://www.xils-lab.com/pages/PolyKB_C ... -demo.html

Hi Zino,

You're right.
The dongle free demo of the PolyKB II is actually 2.0.2 and the full version still 2.0.1.
I didn't find the time to fully tested it before the last months, the Synthix has taken all my time.

A preview version is available on our public ftp (drop a line to get the link if you want to test it). It fixes some stuck notes with the arpeggio which happens in very rare cases.

I will increment the version to 2.0.3, adding the last protools 8 and 9 compatibility and release it in the next weeks (maybe after some days off ! )

Best regards
Xavier

Hi,

it looks like a misunderstanding, sorry.
Of course you are free to use the demo as long as you want but you asked about using the demo for commercial projects which was a problem IMO. As i don't work at Xils i don't have to decide anyway. That's up to Xavier and Lotuzia.
My comment was based on the demo use policy of other companies which i remembered.

Again sorry for the misunderstanding. :)

I am sorry if my comment made you feel bad but when you get the full version you'll maybe feel better... :)
As long as the group buy is running the price for Synthix seems to be a real bargain. Anyway like Xavier mentioned you are still free to use the demo if you want.
