Please don't get me wrong about the NMCOT stuff. I'm not tying to criticize anyone – especially those who take the time to write something. I just thought it useful to point out that NMCOT is a bit of a cliché and that if you think about it, it may be more helpful to explain what you mean than employ the “tea” phrase for fear of insulting someone. It doesn’t seem like an insult to say “I don’t like jazz or hip-hop or country & western.” It just seems like an admission of prejudice. (Maybe that's too strong a word.)

Great to hear this - a nice change. Top guitar solo work, with a nice rocky/punky backing which is laid down in a solid fashion. Great that you sing in French, too.

This didn't really do it for me, Seph. There's some nice guitar work in there, but it felt formless. There's a real soundtrack atmosphere to the rest of the music which I didn't think the guitar was comfortable with.

"A new arrival" Armadillo
A lot of those sounds remind of the Waldorf Microwave presets. That’s not meant as a dig – I like the sounds but they seem too familiar too me. Nice drumming and good arrangement. An improved and tweaked mix would really benefit this a number of ways. It would give it a lot more punch, bring out the groove and disguise the more repetitious parts.

That beginning drum machine bit always makes me think of “Cool for Cats” by Squeeze. Everybody probably hates them don’t they? What an uneven band: brilliant one song and banal the next. Oh well.

If Fellini made a video game – this would be the soundtrack. I love the “crack” near the end of most measures. Like tango music. Reminds me of an old Tuxedomoon song. I find the mix of seemingly traditional instruments like the accordion and that crack noise at odds to the more synthetic sounds of the drums and strings. That may be your intention. If so, this is suitably strange.
PS: Have I told you how cool HarpTime is?

I guess I already commented about the improved mix and “La Chaise Basculante” so let’s talk about something else. What a great little song. I think the words are a bit prosaic (Sorry vurt) but I like the way you’ve arranged this. I would have liked it better if you had arranged it with more of a gritty psychedelic sound a la The Grass Roots' “Live For Today,” but then you wouldn’t get to use that groovy Europop rhythm section. Nice. And best coda of the month.

Probably my favorite piece that I’ve heard from you so far. It’s noisy, sloppy, dense and original. There are some really great things in there. I wonder if the would lose their appeal if showcased more by paring down the din in a few spots. Kind of a refreshing anti-formula piece that works well and could be a blueprint for a subgenre of music. Junos rock, don’t they? I stepped in to the fray in some thread a long time ago here on KvR about whether someone should get a Groovebox or Juno 60 and boy did I get it for suggesting that the Groovebox might be a better choice since it was multi-timbral and all. Anyway, I’m glad you enjoy yours and you are finding good things to do with it.
