Toss in your jampoints and it's $104 for a new/better interface and better cabs. Seems reasonable to me. They finally made the interface change I wanted so I can see the entire chain at once while accessing individual components. I like the T RAX interface style.
Huh - so the Max part isn't any different from Max 4? In other words, if you have Max 4, buying Max 5 for $100 more gets you nothing more than the regular version?

$104 is a bit more like it.

Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2020 5:09 pm There were some collections released after AmpliTube 4 MAX. If you are missing those and upgraded to AmpliTube 5 MAX at the pricing on our site and at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/, you'd be getting Fender Collection 2, AmpliTube SVX 2, AmpliTube Brian May, Dimebag Darrell CFH Collection, AmpliTube Joe Satriani, Fulltone Collection, and AmpliTube Leslie for about $/€43 a piece. Not to mention ALL of the new features in AmpliTube 5 (and they're amazing) PLUS the new gear in AmpliTube 5 (also amazing).

Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sun Nov 08, 2020 7:04 pm I have a new question for IK if Peter is still hanging around.

On the version comparison chart, it says that Amplitube 5 has 600 impulses per speaker for all versions except CS, which has 16. Are these 16 impulses taken from the new V5 impulses? Or are they from Amplitube 4?

Also, do crossgrades work from MODO bass or drums?
thanks!
Both questions have been covered already.

MODO BASS and MODO DRUM are both more than $99€, so yes.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Thanks for the very nice comment! I take music very seriously, as it has kept me off the streets for many years.
When I saw a new song with three of my favorite singers in one live session, I hope my youtube play button holds up :scared:

It's nine players/singers, and the engineers/producers, and some of them travelled some serious miles to get in the same room :hyper:

And it's almost evangelical...

Thanks for both answers. I missed Peter's answer about the IRs being taken from Amplitube 5. So actually CS should have the same sound quality as SE and above since it has the power amp improvements and new IRs. Obviously it won't have the versatility of mic placement with the 600 IRs of the full version, but personally I'm sure I'll be fine with 16, whatever they are. This is the main thing that confused me before because based on his earlier statements, it sounded like certain sound improvements were only present in SE and above, which would mean that product would sound different between CS and SE etc. But aside from the additional options of mic placements, that seems to not be the case. Which makes sense. And is pretty great for us MAX 4 owners (or owners of anything else) who are happy with our current products. I'll still probably get to 5 MAX at some point for the new rack effects and new amps though.

I rummaged around in MAX 4 looking for gear I hadn't combo'd yet, and found the British Copper 30TB, preceded the Wampler Pinnacle pedal, with compressor, reverb and Fender Tape Echo
bringing up the rear. Got me real close to one of my favorite song tones. Couldn't afford the real gear, and barely the polish...
so thanks IK, and gear coders as a team, that makes things happen for humble players! :hyper:

For anyone thinking of getting gf the 'Z Tone DI' box as a way of getting the 5SE update....

Mine just turned up today and I am very impressed with the build quality and sound. Its built like a tank, nice pots and switches, all metal- Battery or 48V power....a great DI box.

There really is a nice tonal variation (and very noticeable before you go in to amp/software) with the Z-Tone control- using JFET and setting it towards 'sharp' brought out a nice sparkle and high end from my guitar that wasn't there there DI-ing (with another make DI) in to my desk.

For the money (you can use JAM Points or shop around- I found it for 135 UK GBP) I would say it is something of a bargain even without the bundled Amplitude 4 (which upgrades to Amplitude 5SE on release) so a massive thumbs up from me. :tu:

PS- I registered the hardware and can confirm a second licence for A4 showed up along side my 4MAX licence...)
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I think you mean in 8+ months you'll be able to get this exact same special lower introductory pricing again. That's the typical trajectory.

Jan 1 2021 prices go up, for those who haven't seen that or have read some optimistic posts, and you can check out the regular prices on the AmpliTube 5 news.

Since AmpliTube 4 had four impulses per speaker, the 16 are AmpliTube 5 so there is some improvement there. Quite a bit less than the sonic impact of 600+ per speaker, but better than 4 nonetheless.

Yes, crossgrade is valid from MODO BASS or MODO DRUM.

Edit - sorry I missed that this was answered above. Thanks for that.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

No one knows what will happen after the release (including IK I suspect!) but with 4 there was always options to upgrade to MAX etc. Remember the only difference between 5SE and 5 is 'more gear' and 5MAX 'even more gear' so you can always pick up the gear in the (now built in!) store anytime there is a sale on...

Thank you Beltrom. I actually have most of those extra collections in various sales, so the regular upgrade would work well for me.
