Well, since I only get two days to try something I want to wait for the weekend so I can actually try it out. This update provides no new gear from the looks of it and requires learning a few hoops to jump through to get it working. Which is common with new versions that move up a version. I hope to try Amplitube 4.0 more this weekend.

Guys, to use Jam Points in Custom Shop, what you need to do is first decide which Gear Credits pack you want to purchase. Go to the ADD CREDITS tab and choose one. Next, sign in to your IK User Account, and click the [Redeem] button on the left side of the screen under your user name.

Put in the amount of JamPoints you want to use, no more than half the purchase price of the Gear Credit pack you want to buy (this is why you choose your pack first.) Hit the [GENERATE] button to get your Promo Code that you will use for Gear Credits.

Now return to the Custom Shop application, and click the [BUY CREDITS] button of your choice now, if you haven't already. This will take you to the Billing & Shipping Information screen. At the bottom of this page, you will see a field to enter in your Promo Code, just above the [PROCEED TO CHECKOUT] button. Paste in your Promo Code, and then proceed to checkout.

You can update your existing AmpliTube 3 to 3.5 without needing to connect to the internet. And your existing AmpliTube authorizations should work to unlock all original AmpliTube 3 models on a fresh install. You will be able to take advantage of the same software you currently have at 64-bit on an offline machine, you just will not be able to use the Custom Shop to buy new gear.

We may at some point have an offline solution.

I was thinking about it this weekend and I wondered why along with the online shop you didn't just offer a standard 3.5 update. Maybe in two flavors, one just for people who want the 64 bit and are happy with the models they have, and another that includes everything new. This could work just like it always has and includes everyone. Even though I have no problems keeping my machine on the internet when needed, I'd probably go for the full update version anyway and avoid all the silly credit buying and I'm probably just going to buy it all anyway because I'm a completist.

I caved. The pressure of having little time left and that I am a sucker for "new and shiny" culminated in the very predictable soldano, tiny terror and the matching 1-12.

Did I need them? Nope. IK's subliminamal messages hooked me in.

I think they are triangulating on your location. You really need to get the full Faraday cage thing going. Personally, when all else fails, I resort to the chicken coop. See - chicken wire - it's God's way of telling THEM you don't have any money. Plus, in the long run, you save a bundle on tinfoil. Win/Win as they say.

Amplitube next models? What will they be?
