Which is exactly how I typically use sims. :tu:
S-Gear changed that a bit as I find myself using it without hardware more and more ...
And re the Green One - perfect, a dream come true if you want an obvious compressor, that is.
No way will it get as transparent as your great Love Squeeze though, so it's definitely not for everyone.

Hi,

I have posted a thread regarding handmade valve maps and would just like to draw it to your attention, thanks.

valve maps? Must be some kind of early analog GPS?
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I am liking the results of running into a dbx 166XL rack comp/gate into the fender (no gating involved) with it set very coloured/Overeasy crazy so an opposite to the Love Squeeze is looking like a good option for flavour as rack is awkward unless the amp was racked up and the dbx is Paul's anyway (well actually its either of ours really but he has the better sounding and bigger space than i do so alot of my stuff stays thier as it makes more sense plus means i can sneak new bits in that go unoticed within reason!). That many stomp comps though i don't know which to try first. Think i will have to make a day out of that one and try whatever the local has in

We will try modding a Boss CS-3 one of these days, they are perfect candidates as they sound good, have an attack control, are dirt cheap s/h, and mod ideas are readily available all over the web, basically upgrade a few resistors and caps and you're done.
Optionally replace a stock IC with a dual configuration (using an adapter) for more headroom ...

Thanks, so these are the American ones.
Very interested in your findings !
I might put a Maverick and a Reignmaker in a 212 one day, in case I can order them directly from the US, over here they cost twice as much.
Cool concept for sure ! :tu:

Nice one and sounds promising so far. It will be no doubt same price wise for Eminence as it is over your way susiwong so two depending on a few things is probably what i shall go for and put them in the 1936 2x12" :)

Here is what i have been told/advised is an Eminence - Celestion comparison by model (not complete, missing alot) but may be worth having in .txt document if anyone does a side by side evaluation/FWIW:

Patriot > ?
Texas Heat > ?
Private Jack > Greenback
Governor > Vintage 30
Red Fang > Alnico Blue
Wizard > G12H30 Heritage
Red Rider (Discontinued Model) > Classic Lead 80 (Also Discontinued AFAIK)
Tone Spotter > G1265
Man O War > G12T75
Tonker > Fane/HiWatt sort of teritory

Can not confirm any of it but there you go and if anyone can add to it would be great

Dean :)

1936 - great cab ! :tu:
Doesn't make too much sense though with the Reignmaker or Maverick, unfortunately, unless you got telekinetic abilities.
Cheap but very solid alternative here, at least for home use, but it will be a good starting point for nekrotizing as well :-o :

Got one of these s/h recently, bedroom signature, loaded with a Private Jack and a Legend, great cab ! :tu:
The speakers are ok, the PJ doesn't remind me too much of the vintage Greenbacks I know however, too clean, though I also heard that comparison before.
But like the Legend it's a decent, well balanced guitar speaker in its own right.
The closest I've heard to vintage Greenbacks yet is the WGS Green Beret once it's played in, or the Reaper if you don't like the typical cone breakup.

That sounds like an intriquing combi right there...

Well, after tweaking the speakers a bit more I'm finding that these things have a lot more to offer sound wise. They have a lot of low end grunt but still have a fair amount of mids to them, which I find is where I like them to be in my case...

Now all I need to do is to sit with them and do some real playing with them..then get some Tolex onto the case...
