i paid really a bargain for it, but normally i wouldnt buy plugins from devs who dont reply or care or whatever. some support should be there, if not then a statement like "sorry a reply can take up to 2 weeks" or whatever. this way you never know what's up!Tpot wrote:I asked him for a receipt for the Mangle twice in November 2014, no reply. I will not buy from him again.
i think this is not too much asked if someone wants to sell a product

Yeah if there is no support, it shouldn't be charged for.

+1, definitely. This is the main reason I haven't considered Mangle.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Yeah if there is no support, it shouldn't be charged for.

Only been following this thread for a few weeks, and have come close multiple times to purchasing Mangle, but then the concerns others have mentioned get the best of me. A few dollars more and I wouldn't be following the thread at all. A few dollars less and I'd buy it without concern about whether it was ever finished or how good support was.
In any case the dev is somewhat forthright on his blog saying that communicating with customers overwhelms him. It's sort of a blanket apology.

Take this for what it's worth to you. Every time I've written to him I've received a reply, eventually. He has listened to my suggestions about certain things and is going to implement some needed changes, especially the non saving of the wav files with the patches. This makes porting to another PC or selling 3rd party patches a nightmare as everything either has to be put back exactly or remapped. Wav files should be saved with the patches and this will be done in an upcoming update.Greg Houston wrote:Only been following this thread for a few weeks, and have come close multiple times to purchasing Mangle, but then the concerns others have mentioned get the best of me. The synth itself is amazing in what it does. IMO, it is the best granular synth out there hands down. It is worth every penny and then some if you're into granular synthesis. Nothing in Reaktor even comes close and I've downloaded quite a few ensembles.
